Game Overview
Print Studios must have enjoyed success with its Pine of Plinko slot and its sequel, Pine of Plinko 2, as the studio is back with another slot that centres around the game of Plinko – which actually started as a game on the Price is Right. Pond of Plinko features that game as its bonus round, but before that, you’ll spin on a 5×3 reel format with 20 paylines. The slot has a 96.10% RTP and a maximum win of 10,000x the stake.
The base game doesn’t have much going for it. There is the River Prize feature that can randomly flood the reels with instant prizes of up to 10,000x, but that’s about it. The main attraction is the Plinko bonus, which features an enhancer Plinko board to determine any modifiers you’ll have during the main bonus. You can receive bumper pockets, golden balls, pocket multipliers, and more. Once the main feature starts, the main objective is to earn enough points to unlock the next stage and, of course, hope your balls land in the juiciest pockets.
Gameplay & Features
Pond of Plinko utilises a 5×3 reel configuration that comprises 20 paylines. Line up three or more matching symbols from left to right, starting from the first reel, and you’ll win a payout according to the paytable. To get into the action on Pond of Plinko, you can spin for as little as €0.10 and as much as €30.00.
River Prize Feature
Triggered randomly, the River Prize Feature will flood the reels to reveal instant prizes of up to 10,000x the stake. You’ll receive those prizes once the meter is full.
Plinko Bonus
Three or more scatter symbols anywhere in view will trigger the Plinko Bonus game. The numbers on the scatter symbols represent the number of balls released into the Plinko board. You can re-spin the values on individual scatters but at a cost.
The bonus starts with you releasing your balls into a small initial enhancer plinko board. Each pocket that fills up unlocks enhancers that modify the Plinko boards moving forward.
With your enhances established, you move to the main game. The pockets at the bottom of a new Plinko board hold multiplier values of up to 1,000x the stake. Each hit on the bumpers increases a progress bar that can unlock each new stage. The bonus carries on until no new stages have been unlocked.
As for those enhancers:
- Bumper Buckets: Converts two buckets into bumpers, which eject the balls back into the board.
- Golden Ball: Activates two Golden pockets. Should a ball land in one, you receive a Golden Ball drop with pockets offering prizes of up to 10,000x.
- Extra Drops: You receive up to 7 additional drops.
- Progressive prize Buckets: Two buckets are selected to have a progressive value that increases with each ball that lands in them.
- Enhanced Prize Bucket: Multiplies a random bucket value by 10x.
- Barriers: Activates two barriers on the board that push balls to the other edge where the better prizes are.
Bonus Buy
- Scatter Boost: For a cost of 1.2x the current stake, you can spin with a 50% increased chance of triggering the Plinko Bonus game.
- Enhanced Scatter Boost: 2x buys you spins with a 240% better chance of triggering the bonus.
- Bonus: You can purchase the bonus game outright for 100x the current spin bet.
Pros
- The multi-stage Plinko bonus is a lot of fun and the main appeal of Pond of Plinko.
- There are buy bonus options to give you quicker access to the bonus game.
Cons
- The base game is dull - especially when all you want to play is the bonus.
- The maximum stake of €30.00 is fairly low.
Pond of Plinko Slot Review Final Thoughts
I was a fan of the two Pine of Plinko slots, and I’m now a fan of Pond of Plinko. This one might not have a progressive jackpot, but the bonus games are heaps of fun. Having the chance to win prizes of up to 10,000x, the stake is not to be sniffed at either.
