Power Of Gods™ Valhalla Demo Slot (Wazdan) Slot Demo & Review

I suspect that Wazdan created their Power of Gods™ series as a rival franchise to Playtech’s Age of the Gods games. I feel it’s only right to tell you that I prefer Wazdan’s series over Playtech’s, which may surprise some people as Playtech are a far more established and well-known developer. Spend a few hours playing these games, though, and I’m sure you will understand my point of view, even if you don’t necessarily agree with it. Anyway, let’s get back to the topic at hand! Power of Gods™ uses sixteen independent reels in a 4×4 configuration, so there are no pay lines or pay ways to worry about here.

The RTP is 96.23%, which is 0.9623/1 in decimal odds. You do not see many slots presenting their odds this way, so I just thought it was an interesting fact to mention. The most significant win is 2,145x your bet, but it isn’t clear whether that is a cap or if that is simply the biggest combination possible within the game.

Power of Gods™ Valhalla includes a handful of features such as the “Hold the Jackpot” bonus game, which Wazdan have in many of their online slots. There is also a volatility selection control, a gamble feature, and a bonus buy feature, but none of these is especially relevant to the gameplay. Oh, and Odin brought his dog. How sweet!

Power Of Gods™ Valhalla Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols

Paytable For Power Of Gods Valhalla Slot

As soon as you see “Gods” and “Valhalla” in the title of an online slot machine, you can immediately guess that it’s going to be yet another title with an emphasis on Norse mythology – think Odin, Loki, Valkyrie, and Thor. The trouble with using that theme is that there are already so many smash-hit slots on the market that use this same backdrop, so you need to put some effort in to make your attempt stand out against slots such as Microgaming’s hit title Thunderstruck 2. If you know that game, you will almost certainly agree that Wazdan has some major work to do if they are going to make Power of Gods™ Valhalla stand out in the seriously chunky library of similar games from other developers. Perhaps the gods will help him if he spins this slot enough? Come on, you never know!

The paytable looks a little unusual initially, but remember, this game treats every box as its own reel. Because of this, the payouts listed on the paytable look a little strange in comparison to what you have seen before. The top payer is a Viking dude; he’s wearing a helmet and appears to be standing just next to a fire… somebody ought to let him though he now has a million burn holes in his brand new jacket! Wins are awarded in Power of Gods™ Valhalla by hitting eight to sixteen matching symbols. That does sound like a tall order, but don’t worry – none of this will spoil your enjoyment of the game.

So, king Viking dude pays 200x your stake for a maximum hit of 16 symbols, which does sound like a lot; however, after testing the game for some time, I did manage to hit a 16 symbol, but in my experience, the setup worked perfectly – I even hit 12 Vikings once, but be prepared for this – despite being just four symbols short of the ultimate prize, I only won 10x my stake for this hit. It’s a similar story with the three other high-paying symbols. I’m going to guess that the green guy is Loki, paying 100x for all 16 symbols or 9x your bet for 12. Valkyrie looks embarrassed about her returns – I don’t blame her. 60x your bet for all sixteen Valkyrie symbols, or 8x your bet for 12 of them. Finally, we have Thor, I believe, and he must be broke because he can only afford to give you 40x your bet for 16 of his symbol or 6x for 12. The payouts for combinations lower than 12 symbols are embarrassingly small, but there are a few good hits between the prizes for 12 and 16 symbols.

I was amazed to discover that the minimum bet per spin is just €0.10 per game, whilst the maximum… well, in the demo, it is set at €10,000 per spin. I’ll bet my left arm that there won’t be a single casino on the web willing to accept 10K bets on any slot – I dread to think how significant the potential losses would be if you bet 10k a spin.

Base Game & Modifiers

Play With 16 Individual Reels In Power Of Gods™ Valhalla Online Slot From Game Provider Wazdan

There isn’t much to say about the base game – the playfield is arranged in a 4×4 configuration, but these are not reel strips – every box is a different reel. It’s an unusual setup, but you will undoubtedly get used to it very quickly. Any box could show any symbol at any time – you may get stacks of matching symbols or a full screen of identical symbols.

There are one or two important things to note – first of all, if you hit 8 matching symbols of one type, then another eight matching symbols fill up the screen. The game will only pay you for the highest paying set of symbols, which is quite messed up, to be honest – you should get paid for both of them, in my opinion, but that’s not how the Power of Gods™ video slot works.

Unfortunately, there aren’t any actual base game features to speak of, but there are a couple of facilities that may come in handy as you play:

Gamble Feature

The gamble feature is a high-low bonus round that allows you to double your winnings up to three times. It’s a risky business, but I tried it a few times anyway and did manage to boost my winnings a few times. I must be honest, though – I lost everything multiple times as well.

Volatility Levels™

I’ve seen this feature included in various Wazdan games, but this is the first time the developer has included a thorough breakdown of how it works in their help pages.

The low volatility option is said to provide frequent wins. However, they are likely to be smaller than usual for most of your session. It’s a great idea if you want a quick blast, but you need to get lucky to win anything decent in this mode.

The regular or medium volatility mode is a mixture of the low and high modes. Sometimes you will hit a tiny win, whilst others, you may catch a monster!

Unsurprisingly, the high volatility mode will give you fewer wins than the other modes, but generally speaking, you are much more likely to see a massive win if you opt to play in this mode. If you have no fear and want to win big, get to the maximum volatility mode!

NOTE: To change the current volatility mode, press the chilli icon found to the immediate left of the spin bottom.

Power Of Gods™ Valhalla Slot Hold The Jackpot Feature

Win Fixed Jackpot Prizes During The Hold The Jackpot Feature On Power Of Gods Valhalla Video Slot

There is a new type of free spin bonus round that has been popular in land-based casinos for some time, but developers have been slow to implement the mechanic into online casino games. The bonus begins with a special reel set featuring only cash prizes and the fixed jackpot values of the Mini, Minor, Major, and Grand Pots. You’ll be awarded 3 respins with these being replenished back to their starting value each time a new symbol lands in view. The bonus will end when you either fill the reels entirely or your respins reach zero.

Bonus Buy

Those playing in a region where the bonus buy function is active will have 3 options available to choose from. They are as follows:

  • Standard: 70x bet.
  • High: 150x bet.
  • Extreme: 300x bet

Power Of Gods™ Valhalla Slot Review Final Thoughts

Wazdan is perfecting their art in the creation of the Hold and Win style of slot, and Power of Gods™ Valhalla is sure to provide players with hours of insane entertainment when they spin the reels on it. This is a game I highly recommend and suggest that you try out the demo above at the very least.
