The name and backdrop of this game suggest that it may be located on the border of the old Soviet Union – perhaps on the Eastern side of the Berlin Wall – although the creepy-looking red-suited people wearing what look to be hockey masks also suggests that the setting shown here is not meant to reflect reality at all. With that in mind, I’m not sure if it is fair to compare this slot to games such as Cossacks The Wild Hunt or not. It’s an effective yet unusual setting for an online slot, so I say don’t take it too seriously and enjoy the many features and big wins on offer rather than worrying too much about what ELK Studios were thinking when they designed it!
Moving on then, what could well be a large nuclear bomb is the highest paying symbol of the bunch and has a return of 50x the current bet for a cluster of 15 or more matching symbols anywhere on the grid. Smaller groupings of 13, 10, or 7 symbols will pay you 10x, 5x, or 2.5x, respectively. A hand grenade is next, which pays 40x for its maximum cluster of 15 or more symbols, or 8x/4x/1.5x for the same smaller groupings of 13/10/7 symbols. A gun will pay you 20x/5x/2.1x/0.9x for the same group sizes, followed by a megaphone at 10x/3.5x/1.4x/0.6x. Four lower paying symbols make up the rest of the paytable, with returns of between 5x and 2.5x for the maximum clusters of 15 or more symbols.
The minimum bet per round is just €0.20 – a reasonably low wager for a game like this, although the returns at such a low bet are also suitably small. On the other hand, the maximum bet of €100.00 is more than enough but is sure to empty your bankroll in record time on a super-high variance slot such as this one. Choose your bet size with care!
Base Game & Modifiers
Propaganda is a six reel, six row slot game that uses a cluster-based payout mechanic combined with instant winning symbol removal whenever five or more identical symbols land anywhere in adjacent positions.
Round Multiplier
A round multiplier is always displayed above the reels and will only reset between each paid spin. The multiplier amount is determined by the number of winning symbols in all your prior winning combinations; for example, a cluster of six winning symbols will add six to the current round multiplier.
If you win multiple times because of new symbols falling in to replace previous winning combinations, the multiplier will continue to rise until there are no more winning combinations in view.
Wild Multipliers
Every cluster of winning symbols will create a new wild symbol that will appear in one of the positions which previously held a winning symbol. All of the multiplier values held by wild symbols that form part of a winning cluster will be added together and applied to the new wild symbol which is created.
Wild Strike Modifier
This modifier can occur randomly at the start of any base game spin but triggers more frequently during the free spin bonus round. When the super free spins are in action, the Wild Strike will activate before every free spin. The modifier will replace several symbols on the reels with new multiplier wilds but will not replace bonus symbols, wild symbols, or existing multiplier wilds.
Propaganda Slot Bonus Features
Three or more bonus symbols appearing anywhere on the reels will trigger the regular free spins feature. Two bonus symbols plus a single “super bonus” symbol will trigger the enhanced bonus round instead. Additionally, you can also upgrade a regular bonus round to a super one by hitting a single super bonus symbol whilst the bonus is in play.
Free Drops Feature
During this mode, the round multiplier will not be reset between your free spins. Because of this, it is possible to achieve some incredible multipliers during this feature, but I also found that I seemed to hit many more dead spins in this mode as well.
Once you do get the round multiplier up to a high value, you will also need to score a win, too, of course! This is made much easier if you can retrigger the bonus round, which is achieved by hitting three bonus symbols just as during the base game.
Super Free Drops Feature
This enhanced version of the bonus round plays out exactly like the regular free drops feature described above, with one crucial difference; the wild strike modifier will be triggered at the start of every free spin!
You can also upgrade a regular bonus round to the super bonus round by hitting a single super bonus symbol whilst the regular free spins are in play.
X-iter Bonus Buy
Elk Studios have included their unique X-iter bonus buy feature into their Propaganda slot. If this feature is available for you to access, you can choose from the following five options.

I feel that Propaganda must have an awesome amount of big win potential, but my game testing failed to deliver any seriously impressive results. Despite this, I am sure it is simply the result of this being an extremely high variance online slot – hopefully, you will do better when you play the game!
