This time around, we have a 5-reel game with 10 fixed paylines, an RTP of 96% and a maximum win of £250,000.
When I first saw this game, I thought it might be some kind of remastered or touched up version of the original, but it’s actually a completely different slot. The headline feature, so to speak, is the Round the Board Bonus triggered when scatters land on reels 1, 3, and 5. During this round, Pots of Gold multipliers are in play, which you can collect along with special symbols that can help enhance your winnings. There’s a bit more to the game though, in the form of the Bonus Trail Collection Meter. This comes with five levels, and each one you achieve will increase the initial bet multipliers active when the bonus round begins.

What about today’s game, the Rainbow Riches Deluxe slot? Could this be another classic slot to add to its portfolio, or are we in for more overkill? From the top, we have the Wild Symbol and Game Logo as the highest paying symbols, sharing payouts of 200x bet for a five of a kind win. Next is the Toadstool at 100x for a completed line of five, followed by the Leprechaun’s Hat and Horseshoe with equal payouts of 50x bet, and the last of the premium symbols is the Harp, worth 30x bet for a winning combination of five. Rainbow Riches Deluxe has gone back to the basics of the original game and is played over a 5×3 reel matrix that has 10 fixed paylines in place. Wins will be credited to the playing balance when at least three matching symbols connect, starting from the leftmost reel first across one of the active ways to win.
Bonus Trail
The Bonus Trail is located to the left side of the reels and will increase with every 1 or 2 bonus symbols which land on the reels. The bonus trail has 5 levels, level 1 of which is given at the start of the game. Each level unlocks when 50 bonus symbols have been collected. Every level will increase the initial bet multipliers on the Gold Pots in the Round the Board Bonus.
The bonus trial count will clear when the bet is changed. On returning to the same bet, the count will be retrieved, displayed again, and persist between sessions. When all 5 levels are reached for a bet, no further bonus symbols will be collected.
Rainbow Riches Deluxe Slot Bonus Features
The bonus scatter symbols are only present on reels 1, 3, and 5. Hitting all three simultaneously will trigger the Round the Board Bonus and award an initial 8 picks.
Round The Board Bonus
During the bonus, the Leprechaun will move along the board depending on the outcome of the crystal ball in an anti-clockwise direction. Passing the start tile will award 3x bet. This is not awarded when the start tile is passed after Rainbow Pick. The following symbols are present on the board for you to land on.
- Fairy: Increases the value displayed on random Gold pots and Mushrooms.
- Mushroom: Awards number displayed as additional picks.
- Rainbow Pot: The crystal ball will activate an extra time, and the Leprechaun will move along the board by that many steps and collect all values in his path.
- Multiplier Pot: Awards the displayed amount ranging from 2x – 768x bet.

Cons
- You'll probably need to reach level 5 to stand a chance of winning anything remotely worthwhile.
- There are no other bonuses that can be triggered whilst you're waiting for the Round the Board Bonus to activate.
Rainbow Riches Slot Final Thoughts
I'll always be a fan of the Rainbow Riches franchise, as it's a part of British gambling culture, but some of the slots that have been created are not always that great. Rainbow Riches Deluxe might have come out with a better score had it included even one base game feature that broke up the play a bit, but instead, it was a borefest just watching one and two scatters land and fill the meter over and over.Certainly not my cup of tea this one, but if you like collection-style games that give you enhanced bonus rounds the more you play, this will likely appeal to you more than it did me.
