Any variation of a Reel King game wouldn’t be complete without the renowned ‘ Dings ‘ that can take place when the reels are spun. Trigger 5 different levels of the Reel King Bonus in this Slingo edition, with each tier offering a higher level of paying potential.
It’s time to spin the reels and grab your dabber in our full review of this game. Along with a detailed account of how this hybrid slot/game is played, you will also be able to practice on it whenever you like in the free play demo that is included in our article.
Reel King Slingo Theme & Stakes
When it comes to game franchises that have passed the test of time, Reel King certainly falls into the top bracket and is continuing to go from strength to strength. Having now teamed up with Slingo Originals, we see Inspired Gaming take the the cartoon king on his latest adventure into the world of Slingo. Whilst the game might be lacking some of the original graphics due to the style of the Slingo format, the sounds are instantly recognisable from the world famous brand.
To participate in Reel King Slingo it will cost you from a minimum of €0.20, up to a maximum of €25 a play. Included in this price of play are 11 spins of the reels that are situated along the bottom of the game grid. After these 11 spins have then concluded, you have the option to buy additional spins, and we will talk more about this further on into the review.
Reel King Slingo Game & Modifiers
Having selected your stake size the game will now begin on a grid of 5×5. In your initial 11 spins you are hoping to land as many numbers on the grid as possible, as each line that you successfully complete will see you move 1 position up the prize ladder that is situated to the left hand side of the reels. There are some additional symbols that can appear alongside the numbers. These can help you in creating more winning lines and are as follows:

The ultimate goal is to complete a full house and reach the top of the prize ladder. As you might expect this is going to be quite difficult from just 11 spins of the reels. So as we mentioned earlier, after they have ended you are offered the chance to buy an extra spin, with the cost of this extra spin being determined by your current progress on the prize ladder.
If you choose to purchase another spin of the reels, then after it has ended you are again offered the opportunity to buy more. If you have advanced on the prize ladder then the cost to spin again will increase. It should be noted that at any stage after the initial 11 spins, you can collect your current prize, or end the game and begin a new one.
Reel King Slingo Bonus Features
Whilst you are spinning the reels on Reel King Slingo, you will notice that on occasion the reels will ‘ Ding ‘ and turn yellow. This is how the Reel King Bonus is triggered, and you can see the meter for this at the top of the game grid.
Additionally, at random on the start of a spin, the word ‘ HELD ‘ can light up, and the game will move you to a random position on the meter. Any subsequent DINGS that you then acheive on the reels will move you further along the meter where you will hopefully trigger one of the bonuses.
Successfully reaching a Reel King bonus will unlock the famous king and his slot machines. These will appear and spin in multipliers that will be applied to your current stake. There are 5 tiers to this bonus in total, and I have highlighted their potential for you below.

Reel King Slingo Review Final Thoughts
I’ve always enjoyed playing Reel King from back in its Section 16 days, up until its most current form which was of course Reel King Megaways™. So to see a Slingo version of it now available to play I was instantly interested in seeing what it had to offer.
Perhaps rather against Reel King is the fact that there is only 1 real bonus round on the game that can be triggered. When you put this up against other Slingo titles such as Rainbow Riches Slingo, or Centurion Slingo, then the developers were always going to find it hard to add enough entertaining content in the Reel King release.
During my review I found it really hard to actually activate the Reel King bonus, and more times than not the game would rather pay a full house than award the feature. This led to boredom setting in quite quickly, which was a shame as I was hoping this was going to be a really good game. Nonetheless, it’s still worth checking out just to see the latest journey the gold old king is currently on.
