All joking aside, I doubt that Rabcat would deny that they have taken some serious artistic license from the Indiana Jones franchise for this one, and that shot of the character holding a torch on the introduction screen has to be lifted straight out of one of the movies… either that or I am going senile in my old age! And of course, this isn’t the first time that Indie has been used as the basis for a slot machine – he was no doubt the inspiration for the original Book of Ra slot and later Book of Dead, and IGT has even produced a range of licensed games based on the franchise as well. I haven’t seen those available for play for some time now -perhaps the license expired? – so it’s nice to have something of an alternative now with the Reel of Riches slot game.
Everything sounds good so far, but how does the all-important paytable shape up? Pretty well, I would say, with a top payout of 50x your stake for every full pay line of five wild symbols. This Is the same return as the highest-paying regular symbol, the explorer, who also pays 50x your bet for a full pay line of five-of-a-kind. Typically, things begin to taper off relatively quickly as the pyramid symbol is next in the line-up and pays just 20x for all five, followed by a King Tut max at 10x and the cat at 5x. Overall, I thought these numbers seemed quite reasonable for a 20-pay line game and even better when factoring in the larger reels and higher number of pay lines used by the bonus rounds.
Wager selection is performed by changing the amount you wish to bet on each of the game’s 20 fixed pay lines, starting at €0.01 per line for a total of €0.20 per spin and maxing out at an “enough-for-anyone” €10.00 per line or €200.00 per round.
Base Game & Modifiers
The base game uses a typical 5×3 playfield with 20 fixed paylines but keep your eyes open when you see the bonus rounds as the reels will change shape into a bunch of other configurations that I doubt have ever been used in an online slot before! It sure is interesting to see, but we’re getting ahead of ourselves now.
Divine Transformation Modifier
Hitting two scatter symbols always sucks, doesn’t it? Even if you get some tiny little consolation prize, it still feels like you just missed out on the chance to win some serious cash. Rabcat’s answer to this problem is to convert any scatters that land in a pair into wild symbols, immediately making them much more useful and boosting your chances of winning something from your base game spin.
Reel Of Riches
The third reel of this machine is known as the Reel of Riches and contains a stack of nine consecutive wild symbols during the base game. This is expanded even further during the bonus rounds, where you will never see anything but wilds appearing on the third reel.

I wondered how Rabcat would implement their multiple free spin modes, and the answer turned out to be completely straightforward – the more scatters you hit, the better your bonus round features will be! After hitting three scatter symbols, you will receive 7 regular free spins, whilst four will award 7 super free spins, and five will land you the best possible bonus of 7 mega free spins.
During all three bonus rounds, the reel set is expanded with additional positions and the number of pay lines increases. Depending on the bonus triggered, you can end up with 24, 28, or 32 free spins and between two and six additional positions, including the two on the Reel of Riches.
It would have been nice to see a multiplier included here as well, but my results from the feature were good all the same. My sample size was less than ten bonus rounds, so, of course, your mileage may vary, but I expect this to be a profitable feature that players are likely to enjoy.

There’s no denying that Rabcat were a little cheeky with the look of this game, but it plays well and pays even better (for a low variance machine!) The jackpot could have done with a boost, but if you are happy with frequent smaller wins, then you will be happy with the payout mechanics here. Recommended!
