Royal Potato 2 (Print Studios) Slot Demo & Review

A hotly debated topic among many groups of friends is what reigns supreme as a topping for a baked potato, and I’m hanging my hat on cheese and beans all day long. It surely can’t be anything else, can it? Well, whilst you mull that one over, let me tell you about another interesting looking spud in the form of Print Studios Royal Potato 2 slot. A bit of background on the stats then, and we’ve got ourselves a 5-reel slot with 30 paylines, an RTP of 96.26% and a high maximum win of 40,000x bet.

If you’ve decided that tuna is acceptable as a topping, go and wash your mouth out with soap and water. If not, let’s talk about the feature set in Print’s Royal Potato 2 slot. The classic Print SuperSpinners feature is present in the game, where special numbers between the reels contain multipliers that will be applied to any win that passes through them. There’s a Royal Levy feature too, where King and Queen symbols can spin to reveal prizes of up to 500x or the free spins bonus. Speaking of which, the Spuds Spin bonus is also triggered by landing a minimum of three scatters in view. During this feature, a jumbo symbol is present on the reels, and a special sack symbol can land, awarding one of four unique modifiers.

So, what’s it to be? Have you decided on the ultimate topping, or do you need a little more time to think? The best plan of attack is to take our free Royal Potato 2 slot demo for a test drive; surely that will make everything as clear as mud, right? Anyway, it’s available to play below.

Royal Potato 2 Paytable
Royal Potato 2 paytable

If you hadn’t guessed already from the title of this slot game, there was a release prior to it from Print Studios named Royal Potato. No surprises there then, but as for other potato-themed online slots, I literally can’t think of a single one off the top of my head; surely someone has made a “Book of Potato,” haven’t they? Or Big Bass Bonanza Potato edition? Hmmm, it would seem not, but there are two more ideas to add to those niches; just chuck my royalties cheque in the post. So, we’ve got a fairly unique genre of slot, but how does it pay? Let’s find out, shall we?

Sitting on his throne at the top of the paytable is the King Potato, worth a juicy 50x bet for a five of kind hit. He’s followed by his beautiful Queen, valued at 25x bet for a line of five, and next, we have four more royal dignitaries coloured Purple, Brown, Green and Blue, worth 12.5x, 10x, 7.5x, and 6x bet, respectively. As for the lower pays, these start with a Purple Flower, which pays 3x for a completed payline; the Orange Flower, worth 2.5x; the Green Flower, paying 2x; and last but not least Blue Flower, worth 1.5x for a five of a kind win.

The betting range of Royal Potato 2 isn’t as large as what you’d find in other games, but with minimum/maximum limits of €0.20 and €25; there are more than enough options on hand to suit the playing style and budget of any player who wants to enjoy the game for real money.

Base Game & Modifiers

Royal Potato 2 Base Game

With a larger reel set of 5×4 in play, you’d perhaps expect Print’s Royal Potato 2 slot to have quite a few active paylines, but instead, the game comes with just 30. You’ll need to land a minimum of 3 matching symbols from left to right to score yourself a win, with the corresponding value then making its way into your balance.

Superspinners

Print’s unique SuperSpinners are in play throughout Royal Potato 2, and these are multiplier numbers that you will see positioned between the reels. If a winning combo passes through a SuperSpinner, its value will be applied to your win. If multiple SuperSpinners are involved in a win, each is applied independently.

Royal Levy

If at least two or more king and queen symbols are present on the reels, then the Royal Levy modifier can trigger. Each King and Queen symbol can then reveal cash prizes up to 500x bet as well as entry to the free spins feature. If any SuperSpinners are present on the reels, all their values will be added and applied to the cash prizes.

Royal Potato 2 Slot Bonus Features

Bonus scatter symbols are present on all five of the game’s reels, and landing 3, 4, or 5 of them will trigger the spud spins bonus and award players with 10, 12, and 14 free spins, respectively.

Spud Spins Bonus

The Spuds Spins bonus begins with a locked 2×1 jumbo symbol in the centre. The jumbo symbol will substitute for all symbols currently active in the symbol panel. If a win is achieved on all active symbols, the jumbo symbol will grow, award additional spins and substitute for more symbols. On the last stage, the jumbo symbol will fill all reels and pay as the highest paying symbol for each spin.

Potato Sack

If the potato sack lands on reel 5, you’ll receive one of the following awards.

  • Golden Spinner: One SuperSpinner turns golden, giving it a value of at least 10x each spin.
  • Extra Spins: Grants 3-6 extra spins.
  • Synced Reels: (Stage 1-3) Grants 1 extra spin where reels 1 and 2 are synchronised.
  • Symbol Activation: (Stage 4-5) Activates a symbol in the panel and grants 1 extra spin.

Bonus Buy

If the bonus buy tab is available in your jurisdiction, you can choose from the following options:

  • Scatter Boost: Increases the chance of triggering the Spuds Spins Bonus by a factor of 2,45 at a cost of 1.5x bet.
  • Enhanced Scatter Boost: Increases the chances the Spuds Spins Bonus by a factor of 5,37 at a cost of 2.5x bet.
  • Royal Levy: Trigger the Royal Levy feature at the cost of 31.7x bet
  • Spud Spins Bonus: Trigger the Spuds Spins Bonus at the cost of 100x bet.
  • Super Spuds Spins Bonus: Trigger the Super Spuds Spins Bonus at the cost 340x bet.

Pros

  • Another great-looking slot from Print.
  • An increased maximum win up to 40,000x bet.

Cons

  • It could be difficult for those to trigger the biggest features if they don't have access to the bonus buy option.
  • It reminded me that people put tuna on baked potatoes, yuck.

Final Thoughts

I remember playing the original version of Royal Potato and really enjoyed it, so I was looking forward to trying out the sequel. I have to say it is a real blast to play and lots of fun, but the first game had a bit more wow factor, and Royal Potato 2 just seems to lack that for me.I guess the best way to describe it would be seeing an act on your favourite talent show for the first time, and then they perform the same act again in the final. You know it's going to be good, but you've seen it all before.
