Game Overview
Chopper, sic balls. I’ll leave that there to see if anyone gets its connection to a slot called Rumble Mutts that’s themed on a junkyard dog. Spoiler: It’s from a cult 1980s movie with the same name as a popular song by Ben E. King. While you’re googling, I’ll fill you in on the details of this latest release from Max Win Gaming and Red Tiger Gaming. It’s a 5×4 slot with 20-fixed paylines, a 96.31% RTP, and an impressive maximum win of 25,00x the stake.
While Rumble Mutts features expanding wilds and a free spins bonus where those wilds remain sticky throughout, there’s one main talking point about this latest release. The slot features a second bonus game called Junkyard Bonus, and essentially, it’s a Hold 7 Win game with one significant difference. In short, aside from symbols that can lock or rest reel multiplier values, you’ll not want any other symbols to land. See, you start with each reel having multiplier values of up to 5,000x the stake. But symbols can land to reduce those values. The bonus only ends once you run out of re-spins, which you’ll pray happens as quickly as possible!
Gameplay & Features
The Rumble Mutts slot features five reels, three rows, and 20 fixed paylines. Winning combinations form when three or more symbols of the same type land across a payline starting from the leftmost reel. If you’re interested in parting with your real money to play, you’ll have to muster up at least €0.10 per spin, while the top stake supported is €20.00.
Expanding Wilds
As you’d expect, wild symbols step in to substitute for all regular symbols when winning combos are possible. However, on Rumble Mutts, they also expand to fill their reels. Once expanded, they reveal a random win multiplier of 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, or 10x that will apply to the payout they helped create. Multiple wilds involved in the same winning combinations have their multipliers added together before they’re applied.
Free Spins
Should a spin reveal two scatter symbols and a single free spins symbol anywhere in view, you receive 15 free spins. During this bonus, any expanding wilds that land will remain sticky on the reels until the bonus ends.
Junkyard Bonus
If the two scatter symbols are accompanied by a Junkyard symbol, the Junkyard Bonus is triggered instead. You’ll notice that each reel has a random value of 200x, 500x, 1,000x, 2,000x, or 5,000x sat above it.
You receive an initial three re-spins, which reset each time one of the following symbols appears:
- Minus: When it lands, the minus will reduce its reel’s value by between 20x and 1,00x.
- RIP: Reduces its reel’s value to 0.
- Reset: Once landed, this resets the values above the reels to their initial state at the start of the bonus.
- Freeze: Locks the value above its reel until the end of the feature.
The bonus ends once you run out of re-spins. At the end, you win the combined value of the values above the reels.
Bonus Buy
- Free Spins Bonus: You can purchase the free spins bonus for 100x the stake.
- Junkyard Bonus: Slap down 500x your current spin bet, and you’ll purchase the Junkyard Bonus game
Pros
- With a 25,000x maximum win (junkyard Bonus only), there's a chance for significant wins.
- That bonus does at least offer something different from the norm.
Cons
- A low betting range.
- The Junkyard Bonus is more likely to frustrate than excite.
Rumble Mutts Slot Review Final Thoughts
Maxwin Gaming has attempted to go all Nolimit City with the Junkyard bonus game, especially in terms of the 500x buy bonus option players have. I’m not sure I understand why anyone would want to play a bonus like that. It’s the polar opposite of a hold-and-win bonus. Rather than hoping symbols land, you’re praying they don’t. It’s painful. That said, it is where the 25,000x the stake maximum win is achievable, so I’m sure some of you degenerates will love it.
