Runner Runner Popwins Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
Now, this is a strange theme to describe – futuristic fruit machine-style symbols adorn the reels, but you can tell who the heavy hitter is straight away – the crown symbol with its bright yellow background. We’ve recently seen quite a few of these retro-futuristic machines, such as Triple Fruit Deluxe Megaways from iSoftbet. I have to say that I do like the look of this game just tough to compare it with anything else directly.
You’ve got a huge number of pay ways here, which means you shouldn’t expect too much from the paytable. To be honest, compared to many other games with this many pay ways, the story on show here really isn’t too bad – the crown symbol is worth 12.5x your stake for five-of-a-kind, the BAR symbol is worth 8x your stake for all five, and the blue star is worth 6x your stake for five-of-a-kind – almost makes it sound easy to hit that 10,000x stake cap doesn’t it, when you factor in the huge multipliers that are active in the free spins, or, optionally, during the base game by using the Super Stake option.
The rest of the payouts aren’t half bad either – 4x your stake for five-of-a-kind of the Lucky 7’s, 3x for the melons, and 2.5x for the grapefruit. There’s no massive drop-off like there is in many games, which makes a nice change. Everything is worth something half decent here – it’s just hitting them as part of a win that is the problem!
Stakelogic never goes crazy with their betting ranges, so ultra-high rollers might prefer to look elsewhere. For everyone else, you can bet from €0.20 at the low end up to €10.00 per spin as the maximum. In my view, these are sensible numbers that will satisfy more than 99% of players.
Base Game & Modifiers
The base game will take some getting used to for new players – you have five reels that start at three high, but the game also pays both ways meaning you have 486 ways rather than the usual 243. Each time a win occurs on a reel, the symbols will explode, and the reel will expand upwards by one position. You’ll often end up with the last four reels up to six high, but that isn’t good enough for the bonus round – you need the first one too!
It’s a good thing that the base game is already so unique and different as there are no modifiers or base game features to speak of or talk about here – not to worry, though, because the bonus round more than makes up for it!
Super Stake Feature
Oh, we best not forget to tell you about this! If you are willing to double your bet per spin, you can add multipliers to the symbols during the base game. All multipliers shown on screen at the end of a spin (or that popped during it) are added together, and your final winnings are multiplied by your multiplier count.
It’s undoubtedly an interesting novelty – the multipliers can range from 2x to 100x, and I have no doubt you can win some big money this way. For me, though, twice the price per spin is too much to pay for this kind of feature. I’d instead try my luck in the bonus rounds!

If you can manage to expand all five reels to their maximum height of six, you’ll get a shot at the free spins bonus round. This is what you’ve been waiting for, but first, you’ll need to contend with the bonus wheel.
Bonus Wheel
The number of free spins you will be awarded is determined first and can range between eight and fifteen. Nothing too exciting there, but it’s the next stage that will have your heart racing. There are three different multiplier reels, one of which will be randomly chosen for you – the first reel tops out at 10x, whilst the third reel starts at 10x and can go all the way to 25x! I’m still dreaming of a 25x, 15 spin bonus round, unfortunately – my best effort has been an eight spin, 10x multiplier bonus round that ended with a win of 34x my stake. Hopefully, you can do better!
Free Spins
But how do the free spins actually work? Just like the base game, except now, the reels can grow to a staggering height of nine rather than six! Additionally, your multiplier will increase every time you win by 1x or 2x if you have managed to fill out all five reels to their maximum size of nine, activating the 118,098 pay way mode. Sadly, I haven’t seen it yet during my testing, but I’m sure there will be a video on YouTube of somebody pulling it off soon!
Bonus Buy Feature
For people living in most jurisdictions other than the United Kingdom, you can opt to use the bonus buy feature to skip the main game and head straight for the bonus game. One advantage of this feature over playing normally is that you can choose which multiplier wheel will be used, too… but it will cost you.
Buying a bonus at 80x your stake doesn’t feel like too much of a squeeze. Paying 150x is pushing it, in my view, and 400x to get that third multiplier wheel with the possibility of a 25x payoff when you can be awarded it randomly anyway; it’s just way too much. There is also a random option at 200x your stake that might get you the best multiplier wheel… but you may just have overpaid by 50x or 120x your stake for your bonus round if you risk this option.
Sorry, but I just can’t recommend it. If you are going to buy the bonus, stick to the first option – even a 10x multiplier is more than capable of getting you to the 10,000x jackpot cap.

Some slots, you just know right away that you will enjoy them, and for me, this game fell sweetly into that category. It’s not amazing – it’s not the game of the year – but it’s worth a spin, and who knows, maybe it will be one of those you keep coming back to now and again if it happens to be nice to you!
