Of the mythical creatures many believe may have existed thousands of years ago, I’d imagine a fire-breathing dragon would be one of the worst to come face to face with, especially if it thinks you’re after the hoard of gold it’s protecting. Well, fortunately, the dragon on Elk Studios’ latest slot releases doesn’t look all that ferocious, and dare I say it, even seems quite cute. Speaking of those features, there are a fair few to get through on Ryze, but then I wouldn’t expect anything else from Elk Studios. Firstly, Multiplier Wilds appear as part of winning cascades that have their multiplier values increased by 1x for each consecutive win they help form. At the same time, it is also possible to create winning clusters of coin symbols holding instant cash prizes and land Burst symbols that convert all adjacent symbols into the same symbol type. Finally, should the bonus symbols make it to the bottom of the reels, you’ll trigger one of two free spins bonus games, one with Sticky Wild Multipliers and another with Sticky Coin symbols on top.

If you have a burning desire for more Dragon-themed slots, we have the demos of plenty of other smoking hot titles released over the years. Clusters are the name of the game on Ryze, and you’ll need them to contain at least 5 matching symbols to receive a payout. However, the better prizes come when clusters of 15+ appear on the reels. A cluster of that many Gold Gems returns 15x the stake, while the Pink Gems reward up to 10x, and the Blue and Green Gems are worth up to 7.5x and 5x, respectively. The Silver and Bronze Coins finalise the pays section with a return of 2.5x and 2x, respectively.
As for the bets you can place, I have no issue with the range of between €0.20 and €100.00 per spin supported on Ryze, but I feel having just 12 other choices between those options may limit what some players wish to stake each round.
Base Game & Modifiers
A cluster pays mechanic in play as you spin the 6 reels and 6 rows of the Ryze slot, which means you need to land clusters of symbols to create winning combinations. In this slot, clusters are 5 or more matching symbols connected vertically or horizontally anywhere on the reels.
All symbols involved in winning clusters explode and are removed from the reels, leading to more fling into the playing grid from above. That cascading reels mechanic continues all the while new clusters form and only stops once no more are created.
Multiplier Wilds
Each time a winning cluster of regular symbols is formed, one of the vacated positions left behind, once winning symbols are removed, is filled with a 1x Multiplier Wild. Its multiplier value increases by 1x for each consecutive winning combination it helps create on the current spin. The multiplier applies to the payouts of those combos, and should multiple instances of these symbols contribute to a win, their values are added together before they’re applied to the payout. They then combine into a merged WIld Multiplier with their combined value.
Coin Wins
Coin symbols can land holding cash values as a multiplier of your current stake. When a cluster of these Coins appears, you win the combined value of all those prizes, and the coin then merges into a single coin holding the value you just received. Multiplier Wilds can apply to the payouts of Coin clusters.
Burst
If Burst symbols land on the reels at the end of a spin when no more winning combinations are possible, they will burst to transform themselves and all adjacent symbols into the same matching payout symbol or Coin.
Ryze slot bonus features
There are two free spins bonus round variations that can be triggered on Ryze. These are explained in more detail for you below:
Regular Free Spins Feature
You receive 7 regular free spins when a Bonus symbol reaches the bottom of the gaming grid and falls into a regular bonus key mould. During this bonus, the Wild Multipliers remain sticky on the reels between spins. Furthermore, if a Bonus symbol drops into a Super Bonus key mould during the spins, the bonus game upgrades to the Super version.
Super Free Spins Feature
The super variation of the free spins bonus triggers if a bonus symbol drops into a Super Bonus key mould at the bottom of the reels. This time, Coin symbols are also sticky between spins alongside the Wild Multipliers.

The Burst symbols and the two-tiered bonus features add even more excitement, especially with the possibility of upgrading to Super Free Spins, where sticky wilds and coins elevate the win potential.
Ryze didn't leave as good a first impression as some of Elk’s other releases this year, but I think a good chunk of players will enjoy what’s on display here.
