Game Overview
I have to say to the guys over at Lucksome; you’re letting the side down here with the title of your latest slot! Whilst other developers have been doing wonders recently with the original, creative, and often amusing names given to their latest online slots, this game has somehow been given the terrible name Saint Nicked! To give credit where credit is due, you do get to see Santa locked in a prison cell at times, so this game certainly is not completely without merit… I definitely believe that Lucksome could have come up with a better name for their new Christmas-themed game than this, however! The game features 243 payways, expanding to up to 3,125 during the bonus round whilst offering a 96.15% RTP and a maximum win of 5,000x your bet.
The cringe factor increases an extra couple of notches when you begin to look at the paytable – “Santastic Multipliers”, it states, non-ironically. Oh, come on, guys… give us a break! I’m starting to think this whole thing is one big intentional dad joke, in which case, fair play for the troll, I guess! In addition to those Santastic multipliers, we also get a free games bonus round with an increased playfield size, an advent calendar pick-me feature, and a couple of base game modifiers as well. Ah, I almost forgot in all of the excitement – a bonus buy facility is available too, in case you cannot wait to laugh at the sight of Santa behind bars awaiting his court hearing for 7 billion counts of bribery and related infractions. Poor Santa!
What do you think? Have I been a little hard on Lucksome over their cringeworthy slot title? Or do you agree that this one was present-ed in bad faith? (Geddit?) Oh my. Our free demo slot of Saint Nicked is available to play below!
Saint Nicked Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
I feel as if I am going to have a major overdose of deja-vu before the year is out if I keep on writing about all of these Christmas slots. Every developer clearly intends to throw their hat into the ring in 2022, some of them are even pumping out multiple new Christmas-themed games, so if you enjoy playing these kinds of slots over the festive period, then you certainly won’t be short of options this year. Type in “Santa” in the search box here at Demoslot, and you’ll find Santa’s Great Gifts, Santa’s Stack Dream Drop, Santa Spins, and Fat Santa, all of which are new releases, which is just one search term! Type in Christmas, and you are sure to find a whole bunch more! At this rate, I may never get to overdose on the turkey and Christmas pudding this year… too much deja-vu can kill you if I’ve heard correctly!
Guess who is at the top of the paytable, then? Yup, you’re right… it’s that damn law enforcement officer pulling over poor old Saint Nicholas for riding a reindeer without a license! Just kidding, it’s Santa, of course, paying 40x your current stake for a full payway of five of a kind. He’s not alone either – Rudolph joins our superstar present-giver at the top of the table, with an identical payout of 40x your bet for all five of his symbols… funnily enough, they show him drinking from a huge beer stein; perhaps Santa was the victim of Rudolph’s drinking? Wouldn’t that be fun? As if the evidence wasn’t already piling up, a whiskey tumbler (complete with gingerbread man) takes the third-place spot with a return of 15x for a full payway, whilst the sack of presents and fluffy handcuffs (facepalm) are each worth 5x your bet for full payways of five-of-a-kind. The remainder of the paytable is filled with the five royal symbols, all of which pay 1x your bet for a complete payway.
The betting range begins at €0.20 before stepping up in sensible increments until you reach the maximum wager of €40.00 per round. So, in summary, there’s a bet size to suit every player’s budget.
Base Game & Modifiers
The paytable sports both fun symbols and decent hits to look forward to, and it all comes together on a five reel, three row reel set whilst playing the base game of Saint Nicked. The top Santa and Rudolph symbols will both award a win for just two matching symbols starting from the left, whilst the rest of the items on the paytable require at least three matches before a win is awarded.
Santastic Multipliers
If both Santa and Rudolph feature in a winning combination, then a random multiplier will be applied to every winning payway that occurs during the current round.
Bar Meter
Did you notice the “Bar” sign to the left of the main reel set? Keep your eyes on this, as there are several “trigger values” which will award a prize from the advent calendar whenever you have filled the meter to the necessary level.
Happy Hour Modifier
During the base game, this random modifier can activate on any spin. Several “sub-symbols” will be added to the reel set, which appears as beer jugs with seemingly random numbers labelled on them. These special symbols will be used to fill the bar meter every time they appear.
Saint Nicked Slot Bonus Features
What would a slot be without a free game’s bonus round? In Saint Nicked, you can win five free games for hitting the minimum of three scatter symbols, increasing to either 10 or 20 games for four or five scatter symbols, respectively.
Free Games
During the free spin bonus, the Santastic Multiplier can increase up to a maximum of 25x rather than the normal 5x available in the base game. Furthermore, the grid will expand to 576 payways initially, with additional payways being unlocked each time a key symbol meets the bars of the cells containing our drunken protagonists!
Advent Calander
The advent calendar includes 24 baubles, each of which features a cash prize, free spins, or a multiplier. The numbers on the advent calendar will be opened in order each time you fill the bar meter to the required level to open a new door.
Bonus Buy
The free spin bonus round costs 100x the regular price per spin to purchase in Saint Nicked, which seems like a fair price considering the additional features offered in the feature.
You can also opt to “insure” the feature for a cost of 300x, which will give you a chance to repeat the bonus round if your winnings total less than 60x at the end of the feature. I wouldn’t bother with this option myself – if you have a good bonus round, you don’t get anything in return for the additional premium!
Saint Nicked Slot Review Final Thoughts
Great game; my only problem has to be the last bit regarding the “Double Lux” insurance option in the bonus buy menu. I really can’t see the point in paying for this facility, but perhaps I am just missing the point. Overall though, it’s a big festive thumbs up from me on Saint Nicked, and this is a Xmas themed slot that you have to play.
