We’ve encountered the Samurai theme several times here at Demoslot, so Sakura Masks is not breaking any new ground in that regard, although I think this is the first slot to focus on the Mempo mask. Pragmatic Play recently released Rise of Samurai IV, which, as the Roman numerals suggest, is the 4th in the series, and whilst it’s not a bad slot game, it wasn’t one I particularly enjoyed. I can only assume the theme of this slot is focused around the Mempo mask in a cultural fashion, perhaps part of a Japanese dance, show, or event; why? - Multiplier Masks: As its name suggests, this mask will hold a multiplier value that applies to the value already achieved on the prize ladder. These symbols can hold multipliers of 2x or 3x.
Sakura Wilds
I mentioned the regular wild previously, but there’s also a Sakura Wild present in the gameplay. Like the standard wild, it substitutes for all non-bonus related symbols but also lands fully stacked on the middle reel and counts as three separate masks.

While the scatter ladder mechanic is nothing new, Red Tiger Gaming has at least spiced up the play with the introduction of the multiplier, stacked wild, and respin modifier symbols that further increase the winning potential. Is it enough to help it stand out from other slots offering similar? Ultimately, that will come down to what you like, but for me, this is nothing more than a middle of the road slot I won't be visiting again any time soon.
