The backdrop of Playtech’s Silver Bullet Bandit suggests that this game is set in the US State of Wyoming, as the devils tower monument is clearly visible to the left of the reel set. That’s quite a contrast with the symbols featured on the reel set – I think somebody might have got a little confused about just where the Wild West was located, don’t you? This 30 fixed payline online slot has an RTP of 95.44% – a little less than average, but we’ve come to expect that from Playtech. More worrying is the fact that there is a maximum win limit which isn’t specified in the games help files – apparently, we are supposed to check the terms and conditions, but I’ve searched high and low for them and haven’t been able to find them.
All the features in Silver Bullet Bandit online slot are triggered by hitting a Cash Collect symbol on reel five, including cash prizes, free games, and the mysterious diamond prizes which aren’t mentioned anywhere in the paytable but crop up frequently in the games help files. Whisky, cigars, barrels of TNT, bags of gold, Sheriff badges… talk about an eclectic collection of symbols! The wild symbol adds even more mystery – a masked figure dual wielding pistols. Is he meant to be the good guy? The mind boggles. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an online slot to compare this game to, especially considering all of this is taking place in the wide-open lands of Wyoming. If you don’t know where Wyoming is, it’s slightly to the left of the centre of the United States, directly under the state of Montana. I admit it – I had no idea myself either, but I looked it up in the hope of sounding smart. I probably shouldn’t have mentioned that part, should I!
Playtech have been lazy with their paytable too, so don’t expect it to update to reflect the size of your current bet. The prizes shown need to be multiplied by your current bet to work out what the real totals should be. There really is no excuse for this in 2022 – the amount of code required to update a paytable with accurate numbers that reflect the payouts for the current bet size is tiny, and it makes a huge difference to the user experience. Alas, let’s get down to business and talk about how much you can win playing Silver Bullet Bandit online slot.
The top symbol is the Sheriff’s badge, returning “180” according to the paytable. Let’s assume we are wagering the minimum bet to keep the math simple, and we can ascertain that a five-of-a-kind combination of Sheriff badges pays 18x your stake. This is followed by the sack of gold at 12x, the box of cigars at 9x, and finally the whisky bottle and TNT barrel at 7.5x each. There are also four royal symbols, all of which return 4.5x your bet for five-of-a-kind. These payouts are fairly average for a 30 payline game.
The minimum bet per spin is set at €0.10, whilst the maximum goes all the way to a frankly obscene €500.00 per spin. I suspect that this will be configurable by each casino that offers this game, as I cannot imagine there are many casinos out there who would want to offer a game that could cost them half a million euros every time a player hits a 1,000x win. On the other hand, would anyone dare play at €500.00 per spin?
Base Game & Modifiers
The base game of Silver Bullet Bandit is predictable in nature – we have a 5×3 playfield spanned by 30 fixed paylines, but Playtech has chosen to try something new rather than the typical scatter collection mechanic for scoring a bonus round. You will see lots of coins landing on the reels with various prizes, the size of which will vary depending on how big your current bet size is, but sadly these are nothing more than a tease 90% of the time – you’re going to need a helping hand if you want to collect those prizes – such as:
Cash Collect Feature
The Cash Collect symbol appears only on reel five, and let me tell you, it doesn’t pop up very often! The worst part of this arrangement is that occasionally you will see the cash collect symbol appear when there are no items to collect on the first four reels, rendering the symbol useless. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does you may well want to throw your computer out of the window in frustration.
Let’s not get too hung up on the negatives, however, as the Cash Collect symbol can also be a huge asset in your quest to win big – all of the coin symbols visible on screen at the same time as the Cash Collect symbol will be gathered up and added to your balance, and you may also be awarded a free spins bonus if there are any special symbols featuring a number prefixed with a plus sign.
After an hour of hardcore testing, I finally worked out what the diamond symbols were all about, too – if one of these bad boys happens to land in view at the same time as the Cash Collect symbol, the game will award you with one of the four jackpot prizes shown across the top of the reels. The prize you will receive is chosen at random, and of course the one time I was lucky enough to score this combination I was only awarded the lowest MINI bonus. Hopefully you will be luckier than me – the GRAND jackpot is worth 500x your stake, whilst the MAJOR jackpot is worth 200x. Nudge Modifier
Remember I said that the Cash Collect symbol doesn’t appear very often? Playtech clearly recognized this too, as they added a nudge modifier to the game which will bring the symbol back into view if it happens to land just one spot above or below the three visible reel positions. It’s only a small help, but with how valuable the Cash Collect symbol is, every little helps!
Silver Bullet Slot Free Spins Feature
Your chances of scoring a huge win improve dramatically if you can make it to the bonus round in Silver Bullet Bandit video slot. In this mode, the Cash Collect symbol appears on all five reels instead of just reel five, but as there are no scatter symbols in this game you are going to have to hit at least one free spins symbol at the same time as the Cash Collect symbol just to get a chance to play the free games feature. This is one of the toughest bonus rounds to hit on any slot I have played in recent times, and whilst there is a good reason for this – it is an extremely lucrative bonus round – the difficulty of actually seeing it makes for a very frustrating gameplay experience.
With Cash Collect symbols now present on all five reels, your chances of hitting the symbol are much higher compared to base game play. It’s standard practice to swap out the reel set during bonus rounds, however, and the strips used during this feature have far fewer prizes than the ones featured in the base game. Don’t be disappointed just yet however – Cash Collect symbols not only appear on all five reels in this mode, but they are sticky for up to ten spins, too!
In short, you are going to struggle NOT to hit a big win from this feature – but you have a hell of a task on your hands just to see it in the first place, which is a crying shame.

Silver Bullet Bandit is a fascinating game – I’d love to know what the maximum win is from this slot, because I could see players hitting well over 10,000x there stake if the right sequence of events were to take place.
Playtech’s slots are legendary for the difficulty of hitting their bonus rounds, but this game takes that legend to a whole new level. And yet, despite this, I just can’t stop playing it – I’m dying to see that free spins feature just one more time. Has Playtech pulled off a master stroke here? I’m tempted to say yes.
