Sin City (Jili Games) Slot Demo & Review

In the latest Jili Games slot release, we’re faced with Tommygun-toting mafia henchmen, organised crime, a powerful crime boss, and a world where, back then, people were prone to vanishing without a trace. Otherwise called Sin City, Las Vegas was a hell of a dangerous place in the 1950s, and we’re about to be reminded of that via the Sin City slot from Jili, a 5-reel, 4-row, and 40-fixed payline slot with an impressive 97% RTP, a medium variance, and some interesting modifiers and features.

While the slot’s theme focuses on bad guys who like to send people to sleep with the fishes, collect protection money, and generally do anything they can to get their hands on dollar bills, my first impression was good. Not because I support any of the above before you ask, but because the slot features impressive graphics, animations, and features. The latter of which, includes five bonus modifiers such as symbol upgrades, giant symbols, and win multipliers that can trigger as part of respins or during a free spins bonus.

Will the Sin City slot leave you feeling like a made man, or is it a slot that, much like cement shoes, will sink without a trace? You’re not going to find out unless you give it a go, and we’ve made that possible by providing you with the Jili try out of the Sin City slot demo below.

We’ve all seen the many great movies themed on the Mafia or the mob as they were often known, but have any good slots used that theme? Surprisingly, while a good number of slot games have gone down the crime boss route, not many stand out. We’ve reviewed a few, and the ones I recommend the most on our site are the PG demo of Mafia Mayhem and Storm Gaming’s Megaways Mob. Any ‘wise guys’ among you would be advised to check out those two before any others, but only once you have given this one a test drive via the slot demo above.

It feels like I might be ratting someone out, but I’m not impressed with the symbol payouts on the Sin City slot. The best you can expect from a five-symbol combination is 5x the stake when you line up five of the Wild symbol or the Cigar-Smoking Mobster across a payline. The Pistol returns 4x for five in a row, followed by the Car and Glass of Whiskey, which both pay up to 3x and 2.5x, respectively. At the bottom end of the scale are the Ace and King, returning 1.5x for a full line of five, and the Queen and Jack, both with equal pays of 1x. I mentioned the Wild symbol at the start of this section, and alongside sharing the top payout, it will substitute for all other regular symbols when winning combinations are possible.

I have no issues with the staking options on Sin City, as there are 15 in total, ranging from €0.10 and €100.00 per spin, offering plenty of suitable entry points for low, mid and high rollers.

You’ll spin away on a 5×4 reel format on the Sin City slot, and the aim, aside from triggering the bonus features, is to land three or more matching symbols across one of the 40 fixed paylines. Those winning combos must start from the leftmost reel and move along a win line across successive reels to the right.

Random Bonuses

To the right of the reels, you’ll notice five caged gangsters, who, to be honest, don’t look like the types you’d want to mess with. Each represents different bonus modifiers that can trigger as part of the repins feature or free spins bonus game.

  • Bonus 1: When active, this modifier allows for wins in both directions, so you can form winning combos from left to right or right to left. If a 5-symbol combination lands, you’ll get paid for it twice.
  • Bonus 2: This delivers a spin or respin, which could reveal mystery symbols on reels two through five. At the end of the spin, they will all transform into the same regular symbol.
  • Bonus 3: Mega symbols sized 2×2, 3×3, or 4×4 can appear on the reels.
  • Bonus 4: Will upgrade all instances of the Ace, King, Queen, and Jack low-paying symbols into a randomly chosen high-paying symbol.
  • Bonus 5: Adds a random win multiplier of 2x, 3x, 5x, 8x, or 10x to the respin or free spin.

Respins

The Crime Boss is the scatter symbol, and each time he lands twice on a single spin, you’ll receive a respin with between 1 and 3 of those bonus modifiers in play. If there are multiplier bonus modifiers, they’ll trigger in numerical order.

Sin City Slot Bonus Features

While landing two of the scatter symbols is enough to see some of those bonus modifiers spring into action, three or more will trigger the free spins bonus, as explained below.

Free Spins Feature

Three scatter symbols give you six free spins, while four and five deliver ten and fifteen, respectively. During this feature, between one and three bonus modifiers are guaranteed to trigger on every spin. The scatter symbol does not appear during the free spins bonus, so there’s no way to activate the respins feature or retrigger the free spins bonus.

Pros

  • Another great-looking title from Jili Games.
  • A 97% RTP.

Cons

  • The symbol payouts are on the low side.

Sin City Slot Review Final Thoughts

I’m not saying this because I’m scared of a hit getting put out on me (ok, perhaps a little), but I enjoyed what Jili Games has done with the Sin City slot. I’m not a fan of the less-than-impressive symbol payouts, but I guess this is to offset the respins feature and the modifiers it can bring with it, which does trigger quite frequently. The slot is also well-presented, and who can argue with a 97% RTP?
