Game Overview
If you’ve ever been to a bingo hall, you’ll have noticed plenty of slot machines for punters to have a go on whilst waiting for the next round of games to start. Yes, bingo and slots go hand in hand, so the creation of Slingo, a hybrid bingo slot game, was surely inevitable at some stage, right? This growing niche of games has branched out lately into more licensed titles, and today’s game review could be their biggest yet as we take a look at Slingo Originals collaboration with Relax Gaming on Slingo Money Train. And as for its stats? We have 5 reels in play, an RTP of 94.50%, and a maximum win of 10,000x bet.
As with many Slingo titles, the main game offers very little in terms of features. We do have some special modifier symbols that can land to help you cross more numbers from your card, but these are standard aspects of Slingo that players will be more than aware of. Can I get a drum roll please? Yes, the biggest hook is, of course, the famous Money Train bonus round. You’ll need to complete at least 4 Slingos for a chance of triggering this bonus, whilst 9 will guarantee you play the lowest value version of it. If you can hit a full house or get lucky on one of the wheels lower down the prize ladder, you’ll get to play the Enhanced version, where you’ll have a better chance of winning big.
With Slingo Originals getting their hands on one of the biggest slot franchises ever to be created, this is a game that you simply have to take a look at. So why not give our free demo slot of Slingo Money Train a try, it’s available to play below.
Slingo Money Train Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
If you rummage through the thousands of online games that are now available to play, you’ll find several slot franchises, with some that feature over ten variations. Whilst some are mediocre at best, one such collection of titles from Relax Gaming has continued to go from strength to strength. As you are no doubt aware, I am talking about the outstanding Money Train series of slots. After the initial release, Relax has gone on to create Money Train 2, Money Train 3, Money Train 4, a jackpot version of the game, and now it’s making its debut in the world of Slingo. With such a high pedigree in the series to date, you’d almost bank on Slingo Money Train being a winner, but let’s take a more detailed look just to be sure.
You never really know what you’re going to get on a Slingo game with regards to a paytable, as some have them due to the theme and their specific set-up, and others, like today’s title, don’t have one at all. So what we have instead on Slingo Money Train are Prize Wheels coloured Gold, Silver and Bronze. If you can hit 4 – 6 lines on your card, you can choose to activate the Bronze Wheel, where you can win between 1x -15x your bet or entry into the feature. Reaching 7 lines will allow you to collect the Silver Wheel with prizes of 4x – 25x bet and entry to the feature up for grabs. Finally, hit 8 lines, and you can collect the Gold Wheel, where prizes range from 8x – 50x and entry into the main bonus. If you want to guarantee yourself feature entry, you’ll need to complete 9, 10, or 11/12 lines, which will award you with 10x bet + Bronze Feature Entry, 30x bet + Silver Feature Entry, and 65x bet + Gold Feature Entry, respectively.
To get the game up and running in this steampunk-themed Slingo title, you’ll need to select a stake to begin with. These start at €0.20 before steadily progressing to a maximum of €25. Due to the nature of how Slingo works after the initial phase, it’s hard to envisage that many players would begin a stake any higher than €1
Base Game & Modifiers
Slingo Money Train is played across a standard Slingo grid of 5×5 containing 25 random numbers between 1 – 90. Along the bottom of this grid is an additional number reel which will roll in five numbers each time you hit spin. To get the game underway, you need to select your stake, and it will award you 10 spins to begin with. Additional spins can then be purchased after you have used all of these, but players should be aware that these can become very costly, especially the higher up the win meter you get.
Just like a classic game of bingo then, your aim is to mark off the numbers on your card; with each line you successfully hit, moving you one position up the meter. There are some special symbols that can appear on the number reel to help you out, with the standard wild allowing you to manually mark off one number in the reel above it, the super wild allowing you to mark off any number within the grid, and finally, the free spin symbol, which will add one extra spin to your current total.
Slingo Money Train Bonus Features
As I mentioned earlier, you can either trigger the main bonus round on a Bronze, Silver or Gold level. If you activate the bonus on the Bronze Level, it will be played at the value of 0.25x the current stake. Next, Silver will be played at 0.5x the current stake, and finally, Gold will be played at 1x the current stake.
Free Spins
The Money Train bonus round awards 3 respins and is played initially on a grid of 5×4 with 20 independently spinning reels. If a column is filled with symbols, then an additional reel will be added to the side, with the game being able to reach a maximum reel matrix of 7×4.
On each spin, if a new multiplier symbol lands in view, it will be added to your current total, and your spin count will reset back to 3. The feature will end if you fail to hit a new symbol on 3 consecutive spins. Additional character modifier symbols can land to boost your winnings, which are as follows.
- Payer: Reveals a multiplier and adds its own value between 1x – 10x to all other visible symbols.
- Collector: Will reveal a multiplier value between 1x – 10x before collecting all other visible values in view and adding them to its own.
- Collect Payer: Reveals a multiplier between 1x – 200x before collecting all visible values in view. Once its own value has been updated, it will add it to all values on the reels.
- Sniper: This will reveal a multiplier between 1x – 10x and then double the values of up to 8 other values in view.
- Necromancer: Brings between 2 – 7 already used non-persistent special symbols back to life.
- Reset Plus: Reveals a value as a multiplier of the bonus bet and increases by one the starting value of the remaining spins. Min Multiplier x1 and Max Multiplier x10.
- Persistent Payer: Reveals a value as a multiplier of the bonus bet and adds it to all other visible symbols on the reels for that spin and any subsequent spin. This symbol does not pay itself. Min Multiplier x1 and Max Multiplier x10.
- Persistent Sniper: Reveals a value as a multiplier of the bonus bet and doubles the value of 3 to 8 other bonus symbols at the end of that spin and any subsequent spin. It can act on the same bonus symbol several times. Min Multiplier x1 and Max Multiplier x10.
- Persistent Collector: Reveals a value as a multiplier of the bonus bet and collects all visible values on the reels, and adds them to its own value at the end of that spin and any subsequent spin. This symbol does not collect its own value. Min Multiplier x1 and Max Multiplier x10.
Pros
- A great addition to one of the most successful slot franchises ever created.
- Huge max win for a Slingo game of 10,000x bet.
Cons
- It can be frustrating to take the risk for the gold bonus, and then it gives three dead spins straight away.
- The wheel multiplier awards are generally very low and not really worth collecting, in my opinion.
Final Thoughts
Whether you've played a Slingo game or not before, you've got to give Slingo Money Train a try purely because of the massive franchise it is a part of. The maximum win of 10,000x bet is certainly very appealing, but you'll likely have to push for the gold wheel in order to get anywhere near it.
