Game Overview
I can always remember growing up that had one of the original piggy banks where there wasn’t a hole to get your money out. When it came to the time of you cashing in all your saved coins and notes, you literally had to smash it to pieces to recover all of your loot. Ah, the good old days before the government insisted on knowing about every penny you have tucked away. Anyway, enough of my ramblings; let me tell you about a Slingo Originals title named Slingo Piggy Bank. This bingo/slot hybrid game comes with 12 paylines, an RTP of 96.45% and a maximum win of 1,600x bet.
We’ve not got much going on in the main game, as is the case with nearly every Slingo game you will encounter. What we do have, however, are some special symbols that can land to help you in your quest to fill the spaces on your card. These include the wild and super wild symbols, which allow you to cross specific numbers off within the grid, along with the free spins and bonus symbols which add one more spin to your tally or trigger the bonus game, respectively. Speaking of which, if you reach 8 Slingos or higher, you can exchange your position for the bonus feature, where you’ll get to smash open piggy banks to reveal win multipliers.
Are you ready to cash in your savings and treat yourself to that holiday you’ve been talking about? I’ve got an idea; why not see f you can scrape together a few more virtual quid in our free demo of Slingo Piggy Bank. It’s available to play below.
Slingo Piggy Bank Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
In the merry-go-round of gambling themes, I hadn’t played anything with a pig in it for months, and then last night, Pragmatic Play’s title Piggy Bankers made its way across my desk. I guess you could say these are like buses then, as this morning I am again getting ready to put virtual pen to paper on Slingo Piggy Bank from Slingo Originals. If, like myself, this has made you want to try out a few other games with a similar theme, then Red Tiger Gamings Piggy Riches Megaways is worth some spinning time, as is Piggy Gold from PG Soft. Let’s get back to today’s game though, and find out more about how you play at what can be won.
Paytables are rare in Slingo games, so I wasn’t surprised that Slingo Piggy Bank didn’t have one. Instead, all wins are awarded by filling in the numbers on your card, completing lines, and moving up the prize ladder to the left of the main playfield. Once you hit a minimum of 3 lines, you’ll be able to collect a cash prize, but if you want to play the bonus feature in the game, you will need to reach at least 8 lines.
Before you grab your hammer and smash open the piggy bank, you’ll need to choose a stake to begin playing with. These begin from a minimum of €0.20 to a maximum of €100. The disappointing part here for me is that there are only two stakes to play at under €1. If you’re a regular player of Slingo, you will know how expensive these games can get, so I would have thought it would make more sense to have a larger selection of smaller stakes, but alas, that is not the case here.
Base Game & Modifiers
Slingo Piggy Bank is a game played on a 5×5 Slingo grid with 25 random numbers ranging from 1 to 90. Below the grid is an additional number reel that will generate five numbers each time you spin. To start the game, you choose your stake and receive ten initial spins. If you run out of spins, you can purchase more, but it’s important to note that this can become expensive, particularly as you progress higher on the win ladder.
Similar to a traditional game of bingo, the objective in Slingo Piggy Bank is to mark off numbers on your card. Each successful line you complete will advance you one position on the meter. Alongside the numbers, there are special symbols on the reel to assist you. The standard wild symbol allows you to mark off one number manually in the reel above it. The super wild symbol lets you mark off any number within the grid. Lastly, the free spin symbol grants you an additional spin to your current total.
Slingo Piggy Bank Bonus Features
Reaching at least 8 lines or landing at least 3 bonus symbols on the number reel will allow you to exchange for the bonus round. There are varying levels of this feature which range from just two picks up to four picks, where all wins are multiplied by x4.
Bonus Round
Once the level of your bonus has been decided, four pigs will appear on the screen. Next, you simply choose one of these to smash, and it will reveal a multiplier value. If you have an additional multiplier in play, this will then be applied to your pick. When you have used all available picks, you are given a chance to choose another pig. If you reveal a gold coin, you can select another pig and receive extra winnings.
Pros
- A nice looking game with a good design.
Cons
- Very little in the shape of features, and the main bonus round isn't anything special.
- Not enough stakes to play at under €1.
Final Thoughts
I recently reviewed Slingo Money Train, which was one of the best titles in this niche of gambling games that I had reviewed for a while. It was back to reality though with Slingo Piggy Bank, and whilst I must say the standard of Slingo overall with regard to design is constantly improving, Slingo Piggy Bank was quite boring and certainly not a game I would play again any time soon.
