Whether that makes it a better option than the many other quality Slingo games on the market, I’m not sure, but it’s certainly something different if you enjoy playing these bingo/slot hybrid casino games. The game is played on a 5×5 grid, has an overall RTP of 95.14%, and is another well-designed title from Slingo Originals.
The Slingo Press Your Luck Slingo game is themed around a television game show, which would make sense, considering there are five different bonus games you can win by completing enough Slingos during a round. There are picking games, wheel-style bonuses, board game-like options, and pressing games. They’re all RNG-based, so your results are determined the moment you hit the spin button. As for the base game, the aim is to match numbers on your bingo card and complete full lines. The more you collect, the better the bonus game you play. You’d imagine it’s quite hard to come up with something different for each Slingo game, considering their simplicity. However, Slingo Originals always manages to do so, as, for example, we’ve had the excellent Tetris Slingo, the nostalgic Slingo Space Invaders, and a cluster pays variation, Slingo’s Cosmic Clusters. Slingo Press Your Luck is another interesting variation, and as you read on, you’ll learn why.
On Slingo Press Your Luck, the common Bingo card layout of 5×5 is in play, and there are 25 randomly selected numbers on the grid in every game. Beneath the main grid is a single-row slot that determines the numbers and other symbols revealed during the 10 spins you’ve paid for.
Any matching numbers revealed from that row are marked off the 5×5 grid as the spins play out. The idea is to complete full lines, also called Slingos, which are lines of five matched numbers in a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line on the grid. It’s possible to fill the grid to complete a maximum of 12 lines. Where Slingo Press Your Luck differs from most other Slingo games is the prize ladder. Rather than winning a payout as a multiplier of your stake, usually for a minimum of four completed Slingos, you win access to bonus games.
Slingo Press Your Luck Base Game
As the game plays out, the single-row slot beneath the reel can reveal numbers or one of the following symbols:
- Wild Symbols: These allow you to pick a number to cross off on the reel directly above the wild symbol.
- Super Wilds: These allow you to cross off any unmatched number on the reels above.
- Blocker: This symbol does nothing apart from blocking any other numbers or symbols from landing instead.
When all spins have been used up, you’re given the option to continue spinning one spin at a time for a price listed on the spin button. The price is calculated depending on how many Slingos you have and how many numbers you’re away from completing further Slingos.
This is the dangerous aspect of Slingo games, as it is tempting to keep spinning in the hope of getting lucky with the numbers. Keep track of how much you have spent on a round before making your next decision. At any point above four completed Slingos, you can choose to collect the bonus game you have unlocked.
Slingo Press Your Luck Bonus Features
You can unlock four bonus games on Slingo Press Your Luck, and which of these you receive depends on how many Slingos you completed during the base game.
Bonus Games
- Take Your Pick (4-5 Slingos): This is a Card Picking Game that reveals cash prizes as a multiplier of your stake up between 0.3x and 6x. There are four rounds, with each successive round having an extra Whammy (end game) symbol as one of the cards. You continue to pick cards until you win four prizes or a Whammy is revealed.
- Lucky Press: (7-8 Slingos): There are 18 positions on a board game-style grid containing cash prize symbols between 0.5x and 50x the stake and Whammies. When you hit the Button, the light stops on one of the symbols. If you win, you continue playing, but with an additional Whammy on the board. Landing on one of these whammies ends the bonus.
- Spin to Win (9-10 Slingos): This is a wheel game with three wheels in total. The first two wheels contain cash prizes of between 6x and 50x the stake and Whammy sections. The third wheel contains multiplier values of between 1x and 10x and Whammy sections. Revealing Whammies will end the bonus with a 0 award unless it lands on the third wheel, which rewards 1x the stake. Cash values are multiplied by the multiplier value on the third reel.
- Press Your Luck (6 or 12 Slingos): At level 6, the prize positions on the board can reveal cash prizes or Whammies. At level 12, the prize positions can also reveal +1 Life symbols. You have three lives to randomly land on Cash Prizes of between 0.1x and 125x or Whammies, with the latter taking a life. Once you run out of lives, the bonus ends.
