Slingo Shark Week Theme, Pays, Stakes & Symbols

Slingo Originals Have Teamed Up With The Discovery Channel To Bring Players Slingo Shark Week. Win Up To 790x Your Bet On This Bingo/slot Hybrid Game

We live on such an amazing planet that’s inhabited by all manner of weird and wonderful creatures. Did you know that the oceans make up the majority of the earth at around 70% and unbelievably around 80% of these waters are largely unexplored. Attempting to broaden our knowledge on this subject and the animals that live within them, are the Discovery Channel and their now famed Shark Week which usually airs around July to August each year.

It’s not usually long until mainstream tv programmes and themes make their way into the world of online gambling, and we were thrilled and interested to see how the team at Slingo Originals would make a game out of Shark Week once we had learned that they had teamed up with the discovery channel. I was certainly pleased to see this game land on my desk to review and my initial thoughts were ones of a great design, some super smooth gameplay, and by the looks of it plenty of features to enjoy, but more about that later.

Drilling down into the most basic of aspects of the game we first come to the best sizes. These start at a mere €0.20 a game, with the stakes progressing at a sensible rate before reaching the maximum of €25. Once your stake has been decided, you will then receive 10 spins of the number reel, with the chance for additional spins to be purchased further on into the gameplay. When it comes to return to player percentage the title boasts an RTP of 95.36%, which in Slingo terms is a pretty decent percentage rate to be playing with, especially when you consider their last Slingo Originals last release Slingo Inca Trail had an RTP of just 95.10%.

Slingo Shark Week Trail Gameplay & Modifiers

Modifier Symbols Can Appear On Slingo Shark Week To Help You Complete More Lines On Your Game Card

Slingo Shark Week is played across a 5×5 grid which contains 25 numbers with random values ranging from between 1 – 90. If you’re unfamiliar with Slingo games then the concept is very much like the game of bingo, where your main objective is to mark off as many of the numbers on your card as possible to complete winning lines or a full house. In the game of Slingo, each line ( or Slingo ) that you complete will move you 1 position up the prize ladder, which you will find located on the left-hand side of the grid.

As you hit the spin button for the first time the number reel under the grid will become active, revealing either 5 numbers or a combination of numbers and special symbols each time. If a number on this reel matches one in the row above it, then that number will be marked off with a shark symbol. I mentioned that there are special symbols that can appear too, so let’s take a look at what these are in the table below.

Slingo Shark Week Bonus Features

Now I did say that the game featured some bonus rounds and there are 6 to trigger if you can make your way far enough up the prize ladder. The only cash prize on this game that you will come across is at 5 Slingos, and if you choose to collect this cash prize it will have the value of 5x your stake. Let’s take a look below at the bonus features and what you can expect if you do indeed collect them.

Shark Award Is The Top Bonus That You Can Trigger On Slingo Shark Week
  • 6 Slingos triggers Shark Slots: Receive 7 spins of a special reel set where 3 of the same symbol on a payline will award a cash prize.
  • 7 Slingos triggers Break the Cage: Click on the cage to win prizes with a minimum and maximum award of 6x and 49x up for grabs respectively.
  • 8 Slingos triggers Fish Grab: Get a hold of as many of the fish as you can before the timer runs out!
  • 9 Slingos triggers What Did the Shark Eat: Choose a random object with a further chance to multiply your win by x3.
  • 10 Slingos triggers Shark Wheel: Win an enhanced bonus game or prize of up to 360x your bet.
  • 11/12 Slingos triggers Shark Award: Sharks will randomly swim past choosing the money bags and then adding them to your win total.

Buying Additional Spins

As is the case with all Slingo titles, after your initial 10 spins of the number reel have finished you will be offered the opportunity to buy more. The cost of each extra spin will be determined by how far you have advanced up the prize ladder. So if for example you only had competed 1 Slingo, the price to spin again would be very low. If however, you were towards the top of the available prizes, then the cost would be a significant multiple of your original bet.

Slingo Shark Week Trail Review Final Thoughts

If you’ve seen any of my previous reviews within the Slingo series of games, then you will know that I prefer the titles that include the bonus rounds. I was really happy to see that there were 6 included in Slingo Shark Week and I always think the games have an overall better feel to them when they are not just the basic game of Slingo wrapped in a different theme. Maybe this is because the design team get to show their creative side and wow us with entertaining features, but whatever the case may be Shark Week was a game that I thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend that you try out.
