Snakes And Ladders Snake Eyes Slot (Pragmatic Play) Slot Demo & Review

Do you have fond memories of playing Snakes & Ladders in your youth? Or perhaps you live in one of those countries that call it “Chutes and Ladders”. I guess snakes are too scary in some parts of the world. Especially Australia. This ten fixed payline game titled Snakes and Ladders: Snake Eyes from Pragmatic Play should transport you back in no time to those great days of losing to your big sister or arch nemesis and has a 96.08% RTP and a 5,300x maximum winnings cap.

The main bonus round is, of course, a board game. The number of triggering bonus symbols will decide how many dice rolls you get, and the aim is to make your way from the bottom left corner to the top of the board, hitting the useful ladders whilst dodging the dreaded snakes. The list of rules that apply to the bonus round is very long, but if you’ve ever played the game for real, I doubt you will have any trouble getting used to it!

So, what will it be tonight? Board game or slots? How about both, with our free demo slot of Snakes & Ladders – Snake Eyes, available to play on all devices below.

Snakes And Ladders Snake Eyes Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols

Snakes And Ladders Snake Eyes Slot Paytable
Snakes and Ladders: Snake Eyes slot paytable

I don’t think we need to go into too much detail regarding the theme of this one, do we? It’s Snakes & Ladders! There have been a few board game style online slots released in recent months, most notably NetEnt’s Superstars, which used characters and elements from several of NetEnt’s most popular games, building into a board game style bonus round that was actually really quite special. Whether Reel Kingdom/Pragmatic Play was aware of NetEnt’s planned release is a mystery, but I guess the question is, how does their own board game themed online slot compare?

There is a decent spread of wins available on the paytable. The wild symbol comes in the form of a die, and there are actually three of them. The number of dots on the die refers to a multiplier applied to the entirety of your winnings at the end of the current spin. Hitting a full payline of five wild dice symbols will also pay you 50x your current bet, which isn’t half bad! That being said, it is only the same as the highest-paying regular symbol – a rather happy looking gorilla character – wearing a crown, no less – who is also worth 50x for a full pay line of five-of-a-kind. It seems he may have lost his food, though, as the second-placed symbol is a banana which will pay you 20x your bet for all five. There’s another happy chappy, too – a snake, this time – and he is also worth 20x your bet for a complete pay line. The last of the high-paying symbols appears to be a basket with what could be another snake peeking out of it, and this one is worth 15x your bet for five-of-a-kind.

Betting options are standard Pragmatic Play – hit the plus or minus buttons on either side of the spin control to pop up a quick settings window that will allow you to move between the minimum bet of €0.10 per spin and the maximum of €100.00 per round.

Base Game & Modifiers

Snakes And Ladders Snake Eyes From Pragmatic Play Comes With 5 Reels And 10 Fixed Paylines
Snakes and Ladders: Snake Eyes slot base game

There aren’t many surprises during the base game – the majority of the action in this slot is contained in the Snakes & Ladders bonus round. Still, there are at least a few decent hits on the paytable to keep you entertained while waiting for those bonus rounds to come around. It’s a standard 5×3 playfield – five reels, three rows, but with just ten paylines, so you’ll need to be prepared for quite a few dead spins.

Wild Dice Symbol

The wild dice substitute for all other symbols except for the bonus symbol. There are three wild dice, each with a different number of spots. Whenever one or more wild dice land on a spin, the number of dots becomes a multiplier that will be applied to the total winnings of that spin.

Snakes And Ladders Snake Eyes Slot Bonus Features

Landing A Minimum Of Three Scatter Symbols Will Trigger The Bonus Round On Snakes And Ladders Snake Eyes Slot
Snakes and Ladders: Snake Eyes slot bonus feature

To trigger the board game bonus round, you will need to hit at least three of the special bonus logo symbols. Hitting three symbols will give you 12 rolls on the board, whilst four or five bonus symbols will grant you 14 or 16 dice rolls, respectively.

Board Feature

When four or five bonus symbols trigger this feature, there is a chance that one of the additional bonus symbols will transform into a snake bonus symbol which awards an extra two dice rolls in the subsequent round.

The bonus game is played on a 12×12 board with 144 squares, and your player is represented by a monkey head which is placed on square 1. As with the Snakes & Ladders board game, the idea is to make it to the top of the screen, dodging snakes and hitting ladders to make progress faster.

Each square of the board may have a cash prize assigned to it of between 4x and 100x the current bet. If you make it to the final square, the game will pay you an additional bonus of 1,000x your current bet. Additionally, the game will give you a chance to re-trigger the feature if you do make it to the top of the board by rolling a double.

Snakes And Ladders Snake Eyes Slot Review Final Thoughts

This is a great, fun game, the presentation is top notch, and the board game part is well worth looking forward to. However, I did find it difficult to progress too far up the board, but perhaps you will do better!
