In the United States, the term “Spring Break” takes on a whole new meaning – students from around the country will flock to the Sunshine States of Florida, California, and New Jersey, then proceed to party on a level that they have probably never experienced before. The wild is the best symbol in the Spring Break slot game, with a payout of 10,000x your stake for a full line of five. Whoa! That’s a pretty chunk maximum from a simple line win by anybody’s standards, and can also be tripled to 30,000x during the free spins feature. Of course, this is the same as in Thunderstruck – Spring Break is a 100% clone through and through – but that doesn’t make it any less impressive. The Spring Break video slot takes place on a 5×3 reel setup, and the nine lines are in the typical positions that you would expect them to be considering the age of the game. The ninth line has always bugged me though – it creates a zig-zag shape that starts and finishes on the centre row, dropping down at the start and ascending all the way to reel four. That’s fine, but the inverse of this pattern is not paid, leading to endless frustration when you see such a combination land and then realize you haven’t won anything. You must wonder – why didn’t they just make these games ten paylines?
The only “feature” to speak of is that a wild forming any part of a winning combination doubles the value of that combination. I don’t think this warrants its own subheading though, so let’s move on.
Spring Break Slot Free Spins Feature
The scatter in Spring Break is represented by the “Beach Party” symbol and hitting three or more of them will trigger the free spins bonus round. It’s also worth noting that hitting five scatters pays out 500x your stake as well, but the pay out for three and four scatters isn’t anything special. Starting out with 500x your stake already in the bank is already a great start to any feature, so if you do manage to hit that particularly combination, you can be satisfied that even if the free spins are poor, you are still walking away with a tasty win!

Retriggers seem to occur quite frequently in this feature, and you will often find yourself with thirty or more free spins remaining after already playing 15-30 spins! There is no limited on the number of times that the free spins can be retriggered, so if you are lucky, who knows? Maybe somebody has played upwards of 200 or even 300 free spins before; the maximum I have seen in a YouTube video is seven retriggers, so it doesn’t seem outside the realm of possibility!
Spring Break Slot Review Final Thoughts
There’s nothing I can say here that I haven’t already said about Thunderstruck – it’s the same game, after all. The graphics don’t feel as if they stand up as well here as they seem to do in Thunderstruck though, and I also must question just how many people would prefer this “Spring Break” theme over Ladies Night and Thunderstruck – the two widely acknowledged most popular uses of this math model and paytable.
It’s a great game – but why not just play Thunderstruck instead?
