Stash And Grab Frenzy Demo Slot (SG Gaming) Slot Demo & Review

Ah, another heist-themed online slot! Perhaps Scientific Games are trying to tell us something? Maybe we should all go out and rob a bank rather than try to get rich playing online slots? Or maybe that playing online slots is as good as robbing a bank? Or perhaps there is no subliminal meaning at all, and the developer has just used this heist theme for Stash and Grab Frenzy because it happens to be pretty cool? I guess we will probably never know, but we do know this is a ten-pay line game with a 96.16% RTP and a maximum win of €250,000.

Next, we’ll dig into the feature set, which is described in a reasonably lengthy paytable that spans around a dozen pages. First, we have Stash & Grab symbols on all five reels, which will trigger a bonus round with three additional robber symbols that are wild and collect any cash prizes that appear. There is also a re-spin feature, which can activate during free spins, extending the length of your bonus round as the number of remaining spins will not decrease whilst a re-spin is in play. A bonus buy facility is also available if you wish to skip to the much more interesting feature part of the game.

So, do you fancy going out on a heist? Nope, me neither; I’d much rather stay in and play our free demo slot of Stash & Grab Frenzy. I’d suggest you do the same unless you enjoy a skirmish with Special Weapons & Tactics!

Paytable For The Stash And Grab Frenzy Slot
Stash and Grab Frenzy slot paytable

There has been a fair few heist-themed slots released during the past few years, possibly as a result of high-profile crimes such as the Hatton Garden safe-deposit box raid (2015, €20 Million), the Securitas Depot robbery (2006, €120 Million), and the botched Millennium Dome Robbery (2000). All of these heists occurred in the United Kingdom, but of course, there have been dozens more here and in other European countries and North America in the past decade. I’d say that makes a compelling argument for the inspiration behind games such as 60 Second Heist and Diamond Heist Hold & Win.

Let’s break down the paytable next, as I am hoping for good things considering that this game has a mere ten pay lines. I wasn’t disappointed, either – the highest-paying symbol is a bright white diamond worth an attractive 200x your bet for a full pay line of five-of-a-kind. This symbol even has a 0.5x payout for just two of them, breaking the tradition of the rest of the paytable, whereby three or more symbols are required to score yourself a win. Next up, a golden tiara will pay you 100x your bet for all five symbols, whilst a pearl necklace is worth 50x. There is also a ring symbol which will pay you 50x your bet for a full pay line of five-of-a-kind, followed by a pair of earrings, a 30x, and the swag bags, which are technically only worth 20x your bet. Still, these can also have a cash value written, overriding the default paytable value. Five lower-paying royal symbols are also included, as you would expect, but what you may not expect is that all of these will pay you the same amount – 10x the current stake for a full pay line.

The minimum bet available in Stash & Grab Frenzy is a mere €0.10 per spin, whilst the maximum bet of €20.00 for each round seems like a sensible maximum for a game of this type.

Base Game & Modifiers

Win Up To €250,000 In The Stash And Grab Frenzy Online Slot From Provider Sg Gaming
Stash and Grab Frenzy slot base game

Over to the base game then, and I’ll start with a simple observation – Scientific Games slots’ reactive design is excellent. It will entirely reformat the display arrangement according to what device you are playing the game on. For example, the game takes on a vertical style whilst being played on a smartphone but uses the full space available on a larger-format display such as a tablet or monitor if it is available. You can also spin your smartphone sideways to view this arguably superior arrangement on that class of device, too, if you wish.

Back to the base game, it’s a 5×3 traditional playfield layout with ten fixed paylines, and most winnings require at least three matching symbols on a pay line starting from the left to award a win. The exceptions are the scatter symbols and the highest-paying diamond, which will also pay you a minimal prize for just two of those symbols on a pay line.

Sadly, there are no base game modifiers, and all the special features described on the lengthy paytable only apply to the free spins feature, despite many of them being explained prior to the description of said bonus round. Don’t get confused – head straight to our breakdown of the free spins bonus below!

Stash And Grab Frenzy Slot Bonus Features

The main bonus round is a free spin feature that will award either six, eight, or 10 free spins for hitting three, four, or five scatter symbols respectively. During the free spins feature, many base game symbols pick up additional utility, which we will explain below.

Free Spins

During this mode, the swag symbols from the base game can pay much more than their listed paytable value, but to benefit from this, you will also need to land at least one of the robber symbols, which only appear during this part of the game.

There are three different robber symbols, all of which are wild, but there is functionally no difference between them. If a robber symbol lands on a position adjacent to one or more swag symbols, he will collect the cash prize written on the swag bag, whilst the swag bag itself can still complete a regular line hit as well – perhaps even being aided by the robber symbols, which are wild. Furthermore, robber symbols will also activate a free re-spin, which does not deduct from your remaining free spins counter. This means that even the lowest bonus round of just six free spins will often be extended significantly longer than you might expect.

With each re-spin, the robber symbol will move one position to the left, whilst the remainder of the reels will roll in new symbols, potentially adding more swag bags for the robber to collect. Better still, if multiple robber symbols appear adjacent to a single swag bag, they will all collect the value that it contains – I’m not sure how that works, but I’m pretty sure the robbers would kill each other over the swag rather than somehow multiply the amount that is in the bag, but hey, this is just a game, after all!

The free re-spin phase started by a robber symbol will finish when all robber symbols have moved off the left edge of the screen, which can take quite a while, as new robber symbols will often land during free re-spins.

Bonus Buy

Scientific Games like to refer to their bonus buy feature as “Buy Pass”; thankfully, the developer does not insist on adding ludicrous 1,000x stake options to their bonus buy facilities either. Instead, you pay just 54.1x the regular stake, and the game will randomly award you a three, four, or five scatter bonus round.

During my testing, I only ever hit a three-scatter bonus round from using the “Buy Pass” feature, but that’s okay, considering that the cost of the option is so low. I can’t use bonus buy facilities in real money mode in my country, but if I could, I would spend a bit of time using this option in a game like Stash & Grab Frenzy, especially at the cost of just 54.1x the regular bet.

Stash And Grab Frenzy Slot Review Final Thoughts

As far as heist-themed slots go, this maybe isn’t the best of them, but it does offer a reasonable chance of hitting heist-like winnings without needing to rob a casino or bank! The Megaways-based heist slots will undoubtedly pay you more, but this game feels fresh and looks great, so we recommend you try this one too.
