Street Magic Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
The name of the slot – “Street Magic” gives away something about its theme, but there isn’t really much in here which supports this. Sure, you have a magician scatter who awards one of three “magical” boosters, but that is about it. As far as I am concerned, this is a lower variance version of NetEnt’s Dead or Alive and has been just as good to me as that one has in the past. The graphics aren’t particularly impressive in this one either – an oddity for Play’N’Go in my experience, but I can let it slide on this occasion because the rest of the game is so good. The sound is nicely ambient, and I can’t imagine anybody being desperate to turn the sound off whilst playing this one.
Onto the all important paytable, the scatter does not have a payout of its own, although it does act as a wild, which definitely makes up for it. The wild symbol has the same value of 25x your stake as the top picture symbol, which appears to be either a magician’s thimble or some kind of ring. After this you have a stopwatch which pays 15x your stake for five-of-a-kind, and things taper off quickly from there. With 20 paylines and the opportunity to hit a full screen of wilds during the free spins, this gives you 20x 25x your stake as the maximum win for a total of 5,000x.
The betting spread is typically huge, as with most Play’N’Go online slots – bet a penny per line if you wish or go nuts and bet €5.00 per line for a total of €100.00 per spin. I’ve braved €10.00 a spin on occasion, and come out with a huge win, but I’m not sure my heart could take trying it a second time!
Base Game & Modifiers
During the base game, the magician will often show up on reels one, three, or five. You only need two of these to activate the random bonus modifier, whereas hitting all three straight off the bat will deliver you the free spins immediately. Here’s how the mod works:
Magician Performances Feature
Hit two or more scatter symbols (remember, they are wild too!) and one of three things will happen – you might be awarded the third scatter you need to start the free spins bonus, explained in the next section.
On the other hand, you may receive up to six wilds randomly added to the screen. This can pay big if they land in the right spots, but more often than not, they won’t.
Finally, the Magician can expand to fill two entire reels with a stacked wilds. This is ideal if you hit the scatter on reels one and three, then have some high paying symbols dotted around the screen at the same time. I’ve won big from this feature, but it pales in comparison to the real free spins bonus.
Street Magic Slot Free Spin Feature
After hitting all three scatter symbols – either organically, or via hitting two and then being awarded the third symbol, you will be asked to pick a card. Three are shown on screen, and when your chosen card turns over it will reveal if you have won 8, 10, or 12 free spins. The more you start with, the better your chances are of hitting a retrigger.
The jewel in the crown of Street Magic video slot is undoubtedly its excellent free spins feature. During this bonus, all wilds which land on screen are sticky for the remainder of the feature. Just like in Dead or Alive or Casino Zeppelin, if you hit a single wild on all five reels, you will be awarded extra free spins.
The difference in Street Magic is that you will be asked to choose a playing card for a second time – this time around it is 4 spins, 6 spins, or 8 spins. If you are lucky enough to play out the maximum possible 20 free spins you stand an excellent chance of filling a significant portion of the screen with wilds, resulting in huge wins.
Street Magic Slot Review Final Thoughts
I really don’t understand the hate this game gets from some online reviewers – like everybody else, they love Dead or Alive – so why would they not also enjoy a very similar game such as this? I don’t have the answers unfortunately, but I definitely recommend you give Street Magic a try for yourself. When this game wants to pay out, it pays out BIG!
