Wins are awarded for groups of eight or more matching symbols anywhere on the screen, whilst the RTP is 96.08%, and the maximum win is a fairly impressive 12,000x your stake. So, what else is churning out of the mill of slots today?
First up, just like most other grid slots, this is a rolling reels game, meaning that you can potentially win an infinite number of times from a single paid spin. Each successive win will gain an increasing multiplier which advances by 1x each time a winning combination is removed from the reels. The game also features giant symbols that can appear in 2×2, 3×3, or 4×4 configurations, each of which can hold a multiplier of up to 5x. If multiple giant symbols with multipliers appear on the screen together, their values are multiplied together before being applied to any winnings gained from that spin. Super Fruit Smash Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
The look of the Super Fruit Smash video slot reminds me a lot of Nintendo’s Donkey Kong Country Returns – take a look at the game’s logo in the top-right corner of the screen, and I suspect that you may be able to see what I mean. Other recent fruit-themed games worth a try include Pragmatic Play’s Crown of Fire and Endorphina’s Wild Love, but both have standard payout mechanics. In contrast, Super Fruit Smash is a scatter` pays grid slot – a much more interesting design, in my opinion. The first round goes to Slotmill, but do they have the stamina to keep things going in the second round? Let’s find out!
Round Two – Fight! Because grid slots tend to have many different payout levels depending on the number of symbols that form part of a winning combination, we usually share a handful of milestone figures when discussing these games here at Demoslot. The highest-paying symbol here is the dragon fruit, with a return of 40x for a screen containing 16 `matching symbols. 14 symbols will win you 15x your bet, whilst 12 is worth 6x. The corresponding figures for the second placed symbol, the strawberry, are 25x/12x/5x for 16, 14, or 12 symbols, respectively. I’m not quite sure what the third fruit is – it could be a very strange-looking peach, but the colour seems off… and it has a green leaf? Perhaps the reason I don’t like some of these newer fruit-themed slots is that they make me feel hopelessly uneducated when I can’t recognise all the fruits! Anyway, I digress – 20x/10x/4x for this one, followed by 18x/9x/3x for the bananas and 18x/9x/3x for the pineapple.

Base Game & Modifiers
Super Fruit Smash’s default gameplay is quite different from many other grid slots. This is because you don’t need to group your matching symbols into clusters. All symbols pay as scatters, meaning you can potentially win several times from a single grid of symbols, and the “avalanche” feature allows you to win even more times from just one paid spin.
Progressive Win Multiplier
Each time a winning combination is removed from the grid, a progressive win multiplier will be increased by 1x. This win multiplier is reset at the beginning of each paid spin, except during the free spins bonus rounds, where the multiplier will persist until the end of the feature.
Giant Symbols
These super-sized symbols can either appear as part of a regular spin or sprout up anywhere on the grid at the end of any non-paying spin. The giant symbols will often have a multiplier attached, which can be anywhere from 2x to 5x. However, this is not guaranteed, and giant symbols sometimes appear with no multiplier whatsoever.
If more than one matching giant symbol appears on a single spin (or a single fruit-based giant symbol, plus a giant wild), then any multipliers they hold will be multiplied together before the summed total is applied to the value of any winnings resulting from the current round.
Countdown Wilds
Regular wild symbols will explode like any other symbol when they form part of a winning combination, except the special countdown wild symbols, which have a number in the bottom-right corner of the symbol. This number reflects the number of avalanches for which the wild symbol will persist before it explodes and is removed from the grid.
Super Fruit Smash Slot Bonus Features
Landing three bonus symbols anywhere on the grid during the base game will award eight free spins, whilst two bonus symbols plus a single super bonus symbol will award eight super free spins. The details of both of these bonus rounds are detailed below.
Free Spins Feature
The main advantage of both free spin bonus rounds is that the progressive win multiplier detailed in the previous section does not reset between spins. This means that you can potentially reach extremely high multipliers, which will be applied to all winnings obtained from subsequent bonus spins. Four free spins will be added to your remaining counter if three more bonus symbols land during this mode.
Super Free Spins Feature
As explained above, the super free spins feature works just like the normal free spins but adds one more advantage – every spin is guaranteed to feature at least one giant symbol. That giant symbol is also guaranteed to have a multiplier of at least 2x.
In my experience of this mode, most spins will land with at least two giant symbols or even three 2×2 giant symbols. Sadly, the multipliers are very often the minimum of 2x, but I guess you can’t have everything! The wins from this mode were always much higher than what I saw while testing the regular free spins feature, so I would always go for this option if I were using the bonus buy facility… were it not for the fact that it is so ludicrously expensive to purchase.
Fast Track Bonus Buy
As I was finishing this review, I thought to myself, hang on a minute; that logo resembles another video game even more than Donkey Kong Country Returns. Which game? Super Monkey Ball, of course! That makes far more sense, too, doesn’t it, considering the title of this slot? We’re getting off topic, though, so let’s get back on point:
Super Fruit Smash is a fantastic grid slot with an interesting feature set that should be capable of entertaining slot players of all kinds.
