Super Golf Drive Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
We don’t have any existing golf-themed slots in the Demoslot library, so I have to at least give PG Soft top marks for originality regarding this release! We do have a few slots based on other sporting pursuits; however – Blueprint’s D10S Maradona, for example, was supposedly once touched by the hand of god. A bold claim, I’m sure you will agree. Nevertheless, it’s somewhat strange that we haven’t seen any other golf games, now that I think about it – the carts, baseball caps, and funny trousers all look fantastic on the reels of Super Golf Drive! But now the big question – how does it pay?
The highest-paying symbol available in this game is a female character dressed in pink. She’ll get you 50x your bet for a full payway of six of a kind – not a bad return for a game with almost 50,000 pay ways! The golf cart is next with a return of 40x for all six symbols, followed by a set of golf clubs at 30x, gloves at 20x, and a ball and tee, along with a blue baseball cap at 15x each. Finally, there are five more low-paying symbols represented by typical royals; six tens, jacks, or queens will get you 4x your bet pack in profits, whilst the kings and aces return double this at 8x the bet for a six of a kind combination.
All Pocket Games Soft releases use a similar mechanism for controlling stakes with sliders for the bet size, bet level, and base bet. Various combinations of these factors can result in wagers of between €0.20 and €100.00 per spin, with plenty of intermediate bets available in between.
Base Game & Modifiers
After clicking off the loading screen, the Super Golf Drive reel set will be presented for the first time with full-height stacked symbols covering reels two and five. Don’t let this confuse you, however – all six reels can divide into between two and six positions during each round, but PG Soft has mixed things up even further by also allowing some symbols to cover multiple positions as well. The result is that it feels as if there is very little rhyme or reason as to what can land on the reels at any time! Whether that’s a good or bad thing, I’ll leave it up to you to decide.
Mystery Symbols & Win Multiplier
On any spin, you may notice that some symbols (excluding the wilds and scatters) appear with a frame drawn around them. During the next round, the frames which landed previously will not be removed as the new symbols fall into place. If a framed symbol is eventually involved in a winning combination, it will be transformed into a mystery symbol.
If three or more mystery symbols are visible on the reels after a spin which does not result in any winning combinations, each of the visible mystery symbols will activate a 1x multiplier. The symbols will then be transformed into a randomly selected symbol chosen from the paytable.
Super Golf Drive Slot Bonus Features
Hitting four or more scatter symbols during the base game on Super Gold Drive will trigger ten free spins, plus two extra spins for each additional scatter.
Free Spins
If you have collected any win multipliers from the mystery symbols before the free spins are activated, those will be carried over to your bonus round and will be applied to your resulting winnings. In my experience, you should have a small multiplier on most of your entries into the bonus round. That’s a good thing because there is very little else to separate the feature from the main game! You can at least re-trigger the free spins by hitting four or more scatters whilst the feature is activated, but that’s about it.
Pros
- This is the perfect way to play golf – and you don’t even need expensive clubs!
- Great presentation – assuming that you are using a mobile device. Desktop users are unlikely to appreciate the vertical interface.
- The 8,000x jackpot isn’t too bad.
Cons
- After half an hour of play, you’ve probably already seen everything that the game has to offer.
- The bonus round lacks any unique features which aren’t in the base game.
Final Thoughts
I was really enjoying testing Super Golf Drive initially, but the bonus round and overall lack of special features is a bit of a letdown. Still, it does look great – and even pays well, too. Worth a look.
