Super Twins (Hacksaw Gaming) Slot Demo & Review

The cartoon-mouse slot theme is not as common as many of the others Backseat Gaming has ticked off to date, but I do wonder where they suddenly got the idea. Is it a coincidence that Hacksaw Gaming, the developer that has aided Backseat Gaming’s rapid rise via its OpenRGS solution, recently released Get the Cheese? Perhaps it is, but it wouldn’t surprise me if the Backseat team were scratching their heads over what to use next before catching a glimpse of what Hackaw were cooking up. The two slots are vastly different, however, as Hacksaw’s is a 6×5 cluster pays slot with Super Cascades and Jumping Wilds. I actually enjoyed playing that one, so check it out if you’re after another good slot option to try.

There are no clusters or cascades on Super Twins, just a 5×4 configuration offering paylines to line winning symbols across. Wild symbols pay the best, as you’ll receive 10x the stake for five in a row. Strawberries also return 5x the stake for a full combination, while Blueberries can deliver up to 8x. The Cherries are worth a maximum of 6x, and the Orange has a top return of 4x. The Ace and King are the best-paying non-premium, with both offering up to 2x, while the Queen, Jack, and Ten return up to 1.5x.  

Budgets of all sizes are catered for on Super Twins, as there are 29 staking options for players to choose from. These range from a budget-busting €0.10 a spin up to a maximum of €100.

The Super Twins slot is played across a 5-reel and 4-row reel configuration, offering 14-fixed paylines. Aside from the wild symbol, which requires a full line of five to create a payout, you must land all other symbols three or more times across a payline. There are no base game features, aside from those wilds, that can help create winning combinations by substituting for the slot’s regular symbols.

While the base game is light on action, there are two bonus games to aim for, which go some way to make up for that. There’s also a Super Wheel that is spun before the start of either bonus to determine the number of spins and the size of the multiplier players will receive.

Super Wheel

When you trigger either of the free spins bonus games on Super Twins, you first receive a spin of the Super Wheel. It determines how many spins between 5 and 20 you receive and a win multiplier between 2x and 100x that will apply to wins. 

Floating Free Bonus

The Floating Free Bonus will trigger whenever three Mushroom scatter symbols appear anywhere on the reels during a base game spin. Wild Symbols float to a new position on every spin during this bonus. Furthermore, landing another three of the Mushroom scatters rewards another spin of the Super Wheel. The free spins and multiplier received from that spin are added to what you already have for your spins. 

Staying Stuck Bonus

Alternatively, the Star scatter is required three times anywhere in view to trigger the Super Twins bonus. All wild symbols remain sticky on the reels for the duration of the bonus. Again, you can re-trigger a spin on the Super Wheel to receive more spins and another multiplier value.
