The Sweetie Crush slot is played across a 5×5 grid matrix that uses a cluster pays mechanic to determine wins. Winning combinations are created when four or more matching symbols are connected vertically or horizontally in any position on the reels. 

Symbol Cascades & Progress Meter

As with many other cluster pays slots, winning combinations will disappear from the reels so that more can fall into position to potentially create additional wins. 

However, on Sweetie Crush, you’ll unlock Wild symbol modifiers and even the slot’s main bonus game whenever certain milestones regarding the number of symbols removed by cascades are reached. 

• After the first 6 symbols are removed: Two Red Sweetie Crush Wilds are added to the reels.
• After 13: One Pipe Bag Wild and one Strawberry Sauce Wild are added to the reels.
• After 25: Two Blue Sweetie Crush Wilds are added to the reels.
• After 38: The Candy Land Bonus Game is triggered. 

As for those different wilds, this is what each does aside from substituting for all regular paying symbols when winning combinations are possible:

• Blue Sweetie Crush Wild: Removes all instances of one random symbol from the reels.

Candy Land Bonus

This bonus takes place on a new 9×9 playing grid, and before the action starts, rather than free spins, players are given a number of surprises. You receive 3 as standard for triggering the bonus game and an additional Surprise for every 3 symbols removed over the 38 required to trigger the bonus. It’s possible to receive up to 7 surprises in total.

The bonus starts with the first surprise, which can trigger winning combinations and cascades on the playing grid. When no more wins are possible, if you have Surprises left, the next is randomly picked to play out. The bonus continues until you have no more Surprises.

As for those Surprises, these can be one of the following: 

• Bomb: This removes between 12 and 19 random symbols from the playing grid. 
• Shuffle: This shuffles the symbols on the playing grid. 
• Wilds: Add between 8 and 15 wild symbols to the reels.

Cake Slice Bonus

Furthermore, two symbols are selected at random at the start of the Candy Land Bonus. Each time they’re removed from the grid, they’re collected by their respective meter. Collecting the target number of each symbol will unlock a Cake Slice for use in the Cake Slice Bonus.

This bonus takes place at the end of the Candy Land bonus. For each Cake Slice unlocked, you receive one pick on the grid that will reveal instant prizes of 2x, 3x, or 5x the stake. 

Plus, if you unlock the third Cake Slice, you’ll receive a Birthday Cake Bonus Prize. That prize is your current stake multiplied by the total number of symbols removed during the Candy Land Bonus.
