The original Templar Tumble was not my favourite grid slot, if I’m honest – I searched out my review of the original before starting to look at this game, and having read that, I very much hope that Relax has dealt with some of the problems I encountered with the original. Early indications look quite good; this is a Dream Drop slot, meaning that there are multiple progressive jackpots included. Despite this, the regular RTP is still 94%, with a 2% progressive jackpot contribution, making the overall RTP bang on the industry average. The maximum regular win is capped at 20,000x the current bet, but of course, this does not apply to the jackpot prizes. Oh, and remember I said the original was a grid slot? Relax just tricked me here, didn’t they, as this sequel is actually a 117,649 payway game instead!
The features of this game will take a while to explain in detail, so we’ll give a brief summary here. There’s a marked symbol feature which works in combination with win multiplier and mystery reveal modifiers to spice up action during the base game. On top of that, we have a free spin bonus round, triggered by hitting three scatter symbols, and then you have the jackpot feature, which has two stages to battle through before you have a chance of hitting the big money.

Templar Tumble 2 Dream Drop Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
The title of this game gives things away, doesn’t it? This is another game based around the legend of the Knights Templar, or perhaps just knights and kings and all that jazz in general. Another recent example of this genre would be Play’N’Go’s Black Knight slot, but there are no doubt countless others. The blurred background is a little boring and is something that I would have expected Relax Gaming to put more effort into, and even the symbols themselves look a little bit ropey to me. Not Relax’s best day in turns of the presentation then, but the payouts and features do look as if they may be enough to save the day here.
As I mentioned earlier, this is a 117,649 payway game, although it isn’t a Megaways slot – that number seems to have become synonymous with BTG-licensed online slots, but this time around, that is not the case. With so many pay ways, you always know not to expect too much from the regular paytable, and the highest-paying knights mask symbol is a perfect example with a return of only 2x the current bet. The lion face or mask is next at 1x, followed by a pink .. something, also at 1x for a full pay line of six-of-a-kind, and there is also a representation of the tree of life with the same return – 1x for all six symbols. All five of the lower paying royal symbols have a payout of just 0.4x for all six of those on a payline, but remember that you can potentially win these prizes several thousand times per paid spin – the raw numbers do not really give an indication of how much you might win on a game like this.
The betting range is fairly typical for Relax Gaming, starting low at €0.20 per spin with plenty of options at the low end of the scale, thinning out as you get closer to the maximum bet of €100.00 per round.
Base Game & Modifiers
The base game uses a 6×7 playfield, and with all possible ways awarding a win, this is how you get the total number of payways at 117,649. This game features blank symbols as well as paying symbols, however, and whilst the paying symbols can appear in a stacked configuration, the blanks will no doubt be your main enemy whilst playing this slot.
This is a rolling reels game, meaning that all winning combinations are removed from the reels immediately, allowing new symbols to fall into their place. This makes it much easier to collect framed symbols, as described below:
Mystery Reveal Feature
All symbols surrounded by a red frame will add a mystery symbol somewhere on the reel set. After five symbols surrounded by a red frame form part of a winning combination, your current level will be increased, and more than one mystery symbol will be added for each red framed symbol.
The mystery symbols themselves can reveal a paying symbol, or a coin symbol, with the coin symbols being much more valuable as they can pay between 1x and 100x the current bet each.
Win Multiplier Feature
Any symbols that are surrounded by a blue frame gain a win multiplier which is determined by the current level. The level is increased each time five symbols with a blue frame form part of a winning combination.

The main bonus round is triggered by hitting three holy grail scatter symbols on a single game round. Ten free spins are awarded, and your current progress with the win multiplier feature will be transferred from the base game to the bonus round.
During this mode, the win multiplier and mystery reveal features will activate at the end of each free spin, regardless of the current status of the meters. Additionally, the counter for each feature will not reset between spins, making it much easier to reach the higher levels.
You can also win additional spins by hitting further scatter symbols whilst the bonus round is in play – one extra free spin will be added to your counter for each scatter that lands.
Jackpot Feature
The first stage of the jackpot feature will trigger randomly, and a new reel set will become active, which contains only “DD” double drop symbols. You must land at least six of these DD symbols to progress to the second stage, where a jackpot prize is guaranteed.
Make it to the Dream Drop stage – the second stage of the jackpot game – and you will now see the five jackpot prizes on reels with varying heights. DD blocks will fall with each “spin” at this stage, and the first reel to reach its full height with DD blocks will determine the jackpot that you will win. The MEGA jackpot is currently worth over six million Euros to give you an idea of the numbers we are talking about here, whilst the lower jackpots vary in value from a few Euros up to several tens of thousands.

Templar Tumble 2 is a vast improvement over the original game, in my opinion – I didn’t enjoy the first slot, and whilst this one still isn’t really my kind of game, I can see why this will appeal to a large number of players. The addition of the progressive jackpot prizes will only serve to boost its appeal amongst slot fans, and I genuinely hope that it will be one of our players that wins the MEGA jackpot!
