Temple Of Torment Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
As we are all aware, the Egyptian theme has been used a lot by slot developers in the past, and I guess you could put that down to Novomatic’s Book of Ra and then Play’n Go’s Book of Dead too. These two top-rated games spawned hundreds of clones that are still being made to this day, with a good selection of those being based on Egypt one way or another. Thankfully, there have been other providers who have taken a different approach, with some offering fun and more cartoon-based style slots and others exploring the darker side of Egypt, as Hacksaw has treated us to previously in their Hand of Anubis slot. So, how will Temple of Torment fair in the grand scheme of things? I saw we find out, don’t you?
Let’s kick things off with the paytable, and for the highest paying regular symbol, we have Ra, who pays 30x bet for a five of a kind win. Then we have Anubis, worth 25x for a completed line of five, followed by the Ankh at 20x, the Eye of Horus at 17.5x, and finally, The Shen, worth 15x for a full payline of five. With a reel configuration of 5×4, you’d probably expect Temple of Torment to have a lot more paylines than the 14 it has. This seems to work well for how they develop their titles, so I guess you could say it’s business as usual regarding the format. Creating a way across this playfield will require at least three matching symbols to land, starting from the leftmost reel first.
Wild Golden Scarab Symbols
All wild golden scarabs that land in view are guaranteed to expand up or down if at least one golden scarab would be part of at least one winning combo. In addition, expanded scarab symbols count as a wild on every position they cover, and each reel can only have one of these special symbols at a time. Finally, if a golden scarab expands through a wild symbol, the wild will receive a multiplier value between 2x – 500x.

There are two bonus rounds that can be triggered within the game, so there are two different sets of scatter symbols that can land. Final Thoughts
Whilst Temple of Torment is another solid addition to the Hacksaw portfolio, it's certainly not up to the standards of some of their recent releases, like Mayan Stackways, which I enjoyed. To be honest, this feels like more of a filler than anything else, and whilst hardcore fans might enjoy it for a short time, I don't see this being on anyone's must-play list for long.
