Game Overview

Growing up, the first cowboy movie I ever saw was The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly, and that’s down to my old man being a massive Western movie fan. It starred Clint Eastwood (didn’t they all?), a desert full of hidden gold, and the unforgettable whistle of Ennio Morricone’s soundtrack. So when I saw that Red Tiger Gaming decided to take a crack at a Wild West-themed slot with The Good, The Bad, and the Rich, you could say my interest was piqued. This slot aims to bring the gritty, gold-chasing action of the Old West straight to your screen. Now, whether it hits the mark or misses like a six-shooter at sundown… well, we’ll have to saddle up and find out! The Good, The Bad, and the Rich is a 5×3 slot with 25 paylines, a 96% RTP, and a 10,462x stake maximum win.

RTG’s latest slot is built around a progression feature, which unlocks as you spin during your session. You collect Crossed Pistols, and for every 10, a new feature triggers. Not only that, it also has the potential to trigger on any random spin going forward. Those features remove royal symbols (low pays), add wilds to the reels, and will even convert the playing field into 243 ways to win. Once you trigger the slot’s free spins bonus, tall unlocked features carry over, and when they trigger, you get an extra spin.

Gameplay & Features

The Good, the Bad, and The Rich slot has 25 fixed pay lines and is played across a 5×3 reel format. When three or more matching regular symbols land across one of those paylines, you receive a payout. Joining the gameplay requires spin bets of at least €0.10, with the maximum stake supported being €8.00.

Progress Feature

The key selling point of Red Tiger Gaming’s latest slot is its progression feature. Each time a Crossed Pistols symbol appears on the reels, it’s collected. Once you reach 10, the next feature of three is unlocked, triggers once, and can then trigger randomly on any future spin. If, on the initial trigger, the unlocked feature does not deliver a win, it continues to play across consecutive spins until one occurs.

  • Remove Royals: Once unlocked, all the royal symbols from the reels are removed.
  • Random Wilds: A random number of wild symbols are added to the three middle reels.
  • 243 Ways to Win: Regular symbols now land in stacks of three. That means the reels now offer 243 ways to win.

Free Spins

When 3, 4, or 5 scatter symbols appear anywhere in view on the same spin, you receive 10, 12, or 15 free spins, respectively. As the bonus plays out, scatter symbols and the Crossed Pistol symbols are removed from the reels. The features you’ve unlocked now trigger more often than normal, and when they do, you receive an additional spin.

Bonus Buy

  • Any Feature: For 12x the stake, one of the three progression features is guaranteed to trigger. The spin is also guaranteed to deliver a win of some kind.
  • Free Spins Bonus: You can purchase the free spins bonus with all three progression features unlocked for 100x the current spin bet.

Pros

  • The progression feature gives you something to im for.
  • RTG has delivered a good-looking slot.

Cons

  • High rollers will definitely stay away from a maximum supported bet of 8.00.
  • Gets boring fairly quickly.

The Good The Bad & The Rich Slot Review Final Thoughts

The Good, The Bad, and the Rich features quality visuals and an interesting progression feature. Unfortunately, that’s all there is to say. It’s a mediocre slot that might hit the mark for some, but true Western fans will know of countless better slots with a similar theme.
