The Goonies Return Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
Blueprint Gaming are quite the expert in taking a TV series or Movie and transitioning it to an online slot. We already have Rick and Morty Megaways, Ted, and Count Duckula on our site from their portfolio, along with The Goonies slot demo, which I’m sure any diehard Blueprint fan will have already played several times over. Due to the massive success of that game and the overall reception it got from players, we were not surprised in the slightest to see the appearance of The Goonies Returns. So, let’s jump straight into the pays section and see what prizes can be won.
We’re going to start at the very top of the paytable, where we have the wild symbol and game logo sharing the top spot with returns of 50x bet for a five of a kind win. Next, we have Mikey and Chunk, both paying 30x for a full line of five, followed by Mouth and Data, who pay 20x the bet for a winning combo of five. The Goonies Return Slot Base Game & Modifiers
Blueprint has opted for a classic set-up of five reels each featuring three rows, to give a total of 20 fixed paylines in The Goonies Returns. Players will be awarded a win when at least three matching symbols land on adjacent reels starting from the leftmost reel first. Although in the case of the wild and game logo, only two symbols need to hit for a win to be paid.
Arguably the biggest and most exciting part of the base game is the skeleton key positioned to the right of the reels. When this lights up as either green for a standard modifier or red for the enhanced version, you’ll get to choose from 3 keys that will award one of the following seven modifiers.
- Truffle Shuffle Wilds Feature: Wilds can overlay positions on the reels, turning them wild. Chunk can also transform these wilds into multiplying wilds. After the shuffle has ended, it’s possible for a re-shuffle to be awarded.
- Hidden Riches Feature: A stone pillar will strike the centre reel adding a Mikey Wild. After the reels have then stopped, any Goonie characters in view will be transformed into wild symbols.
- W-invention Reels Feature: Data will appear and punch the reels making two or more consecutive reels replicate the same outcome. He also can upgrade the symbols or drag them across to make a better win.
- Lucky Coins Feature: Gold coins will land in random positions on the reels. Once the reels have stopped, the coins will transform into a random symbol from the paytable. It’s also possible for the coins to reveal cash amounts. If this happens, then respins will be awarded for more chances to land cash values, with the feature ending once you fail to land a new amount.
- Bonus Boost Feature: This will add additional bonus symbols to the reels.
- Win Spin Feature: This modifier will guarantee players a big winning spin when activated.
* The action within The Goonies Return is non-stop, with other modifiers also being able to trigger randomly. These include a scythe appearing after a losing spin to reset the reels into a win, shooting spikes that can move columns of symbols to create a win, dynamite that can be thrown onto the reels to upgrade a current win, and finally, a cave collapse that removes symbols from the reels so that new ones can cascade down to produce a new set of winning symbols.

The Goonies Return Slot Bonus Features
Players will trigger the bonus round when 3 or more scatter symbols land in view. Upon activating the feature, you will be taken to the ship’s wheel, where one of 6 bonus rounds will be offered. If you’d like to take a risk and gamble the feature you have been awarded for the next one up on the ladder, you can, but beware that if you lose, you will be awarded a mystery cash prize. The bonus rounds that can be awarded are as follows.
- Booby Trap Bonus: During this feature, you can turn the key to the left or the right to reveal a multiplier value. The bonus ends when you reveal collect or an upgrade to another feature.
- Waterslide to Wealth Bonus: Select gold doubloons to reveal numbers to travel along the slide full of multiplier values. Land on a value with a wheel underneath it to spin the ship’s wheel and upgrade the values on the trail, advance along the slide further, or head straight to the big money bonus.
- Skeleton Organ Free Spins: 5 spins will be awarded with the skeleton organ stacked symbols now active on the reels. If these land in view, they will stick and remain in place for the duration of the feature. Land a special symbol in view to get the chance to pick a key on the organ with this revealing a symbol that all skeleton organ symbols will transform into. At the end of the bonus, you’ll get the chance to win more free spins or maybe an upgrade to another feature.
- Fratelli Free Spins: 8 free spins are initially awarded for this bonus. If the super sloth wild lands in view during these spins, it will leave a special border around the position it landed in for the remainder of the spins. - Final Voyage Free Spins: The free spins begin on this feature with the inferno ship making its way from reel one and finally resting on reel 5. Each reel it stops at along the way will become fully wild, as will the characters displayed at the bottom of each reel. Once the ship reaches the end, it’s possible to receive more spins or a feature upgrade.
- One Eyed Willy Riches Bonus: Reaching this bonus through landing 5 scatters in view via the bonus wheel, the base game modifiers, or the feature upgrade, will award three money spins on a 5×4 grid. Each time a multiplier lands in view, the spins will be reset to 3. The following special symbols can land to aid you in your bid to win big.
- Mikey: Will award an overall win multiplier

Final Thoughts
Blueprint Gaming has thrown the kitchen sink at The Goonies Return, with it being one of the most feature-rich games I think I have ever played. There literally seems to be so much going on that it's almost impossible to think that a bonus or modifier isn't just around the corner. Whether or not slot fans think it's a worthy sequel for an all-time classic movie, I'm not quite sure, but I do suspect this game will make its way onto many a punter's must-play list. I guess the ultimate question has to be, will the inevitable The Goonies Megaways slot end up being the best of the bunch?
