Thoro slot theme, stakes, pays & symbols
You have to appreciate the clever merging of one of Elk Studios’ flagship characters that first appeared in Wild Toro back in 2016 with Thor. While we are far from short of Ancient Norse mythology-themed slots to enjoy, you have to give kudos for how the studio has managed to deliver a unique twist with it. Onto what you can win in Thoro next, and while there are a bunch of features and modifiers that can trigger on any given spin to up the winning potential, you’ll still need to rely on regular symbols to line up if you want to enjoy a profitable session. The Helmet tops the pay charts with a 5x the stake return for five in a row, while the Gauntlet offers up to half that at 2.5x. The Pig and Horn symbols are the last of the premiums, which return to 1.2x and 0.9x, respectively. I am usually a fan of Elk slots but not on this occasion. While the graphics, animations, and sounds are at the usual top, the gameplay is rather convoluted. The combination of sticky collector symbols with a walking wild leads too often to the former blocking wins as the Wild Toro advances. The feature rate in the base game is as expected but rarely produces anything past 10x. The bonus frequency seems even higher than the usual 300-350 spins and feels like it is +400. With the typical FS payout for Elk slots being in the 50-70x range, it makes it hard to recover any losses while waiting for a trigger. 6.8/10 max, should be probably lower.
