I hadn’t been playing this game for very long when I realised that Booming Games had clearly taken a little inspiration from Pragmatic Play’s hugely successful Starlight Princess. Pragmatic’s game was already an excellent slot, but Booming has somehow managed to improve it further by boosting both the maximum jackpot and overall RTP. Of course, this isn’t the only slot with ‘bonanza’ in its name – Big Time Gaming’s hugely successful slot recently got a Megapays update along with a huge multi-million Euro jackpot. The two games have little in common apart from their names, but I couldn’t possibly write this review without mentioning it!
The highest-paying symbol available in TNT Bonanza is a large red gemstone with a payout of 100x the total bet for a 12-symbol combination. The yellow stone is worth 25x when 12 or more appear simultaneously, whilst the blue, green, and purple stones have lower payouts at 15x, 12.5x, and 10x respectively. Four smaller gemstones make up the low-paying half of the paytable. These are all identically shaped and have payouts between 2.5x and 8x the total bet for a 12-symbol combination.
The minimum/maximum permitted bets have been set at €0.20 and €20.00, respectively, but the small number of intermediate bets at the upper end of the range may be an issue for those with larger bankrolls.
Base Game & Modifiers
The great thing about scatter-pay slots is that you don’t need to know anything about paylines or payways to enjoy them. The playfield consists of six reels of five rows each for a total of 30 symbol positions, and you only need to hit eight matches to score yourself a win. This means you could win up to three times from the initial symbol drop and countless more if you get lucky during subsequent cascades.
Whilst the base game does not feature any special features or modifiers, the scatter-pay and cascading symbol mechanics go a long way towards keeping the game fresh and exciting. A couple of modifiers would still have been nice though!

The main bonus round is triggered by hitting four or more TNT Bonus scatter symbols. Ten spins are awarded regardless of the number of triggering scatters, but there’s also a cash payout of up to 20x the total bet if you get lucky and hit the maximum possible six scatter symbols.
Free Spins
The free spins feature is played on an alternate reel set that the developer promises is much more profitable than the one used during the base game. That’s not surprising though, as these reels include new multiplier symbols with values ranging between 2x and 100x!
Multiplier symbols will persist between symbol cascades. When there are no more winning combinations resulting from the current spin, all visible multipliers will be added together before the total value is applied to all winnings from the current spin.
Hitting three or more scatters whilst the feature is active will add five free spins to your remaining total, and there is no limit to the number of re-triggers that may be won.
Bonus Buy
The free spins are undoubtedly the most fun and generous part of TNT Bonanza, so it’s great to see that Booming Games have included a bonus buy facility which can take you there immediately. The cost to take advantage of this is 100x the normal price per spin, but the feature may not be available in all countries and jurisdictions.

I’m a big fan of these scatter-pay slots – they are beautifully simple, exciting, and fun to play. The 6,500x jackpot is a little higher than that offered by many similar games, but the lack of any base game features does take away from what is otherwise a fantastic online slot.
