Trees Of Treasure (Pragmatic Play) Slot Demo & Review

I imagine most of us could do with our own money tree now that Christmas and the New Year are out of the way. Having spent so much on gifts for loved ones, festive food we’ve still not seen the back of, travel, and, of course, the odd beer or seventeen, I know my bank account took a hammering that will take me time to recover. That’s the life cycle, though; I’ll spend the rest of the year building my money back up to learn it’s nearly Christmas again – rinse and repeat! That said, you never know; I might boost my account by enjoying more luck than usual when playing slots throughout 2024. Perhaps even Pragmatic Play’s latest release, Trees of Treasure, could be the catalyst. It is a 5-reel, 3-row, and 20-fixed payline slot with a max win that tops out at 15,000x the stake and a slightly above-average RTP of 96.10%.

But what of the bonus features, I hear you ask? Well, there are not many, which is fine as there’s nothing wrong with a more traditional slot of times gone by. What Trees of Treasure does offer is wild symbols during a base game that has symbol combinations topping out at 250x your stake and a Hold & Win Bonus you can trigger via regular scatters at your standard spin bet or via an Ante Bet feature that increases your chances of landing the feature for a cost of 50% on top.

Is Trees of Treasure the type of slot you’d hope could grow your fortune, or is it one you’d rather leave well alone? By using the free-to-play Trees of Treasure slot demo below, you can find out all by yourself!

Trees Of Treasure Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols

Trees Of Treasure Slot Paytable

Pragmatic Play has produced countless Asian-themed slots over the years, and like with most themes the developer uses, some are good, some are duds, and the rest are somewhere in the middle of the two. You only have to look at the last two Asian-inspired releases from the provider to see how the end product is consistently a mixed bag from Pragmatic Play. Rise of Samurai IV, though not one of the best of the series, received decent ratings from the team here at Demoslot, while Year of the Dragon King left us wondering what could have been with more effort.

The question is, what has Pragmatic Play pulled from its hat this time? We’re only going to find out by going through what it offers, and as per, we’ll begin with the symbols and payouts. Lining up the Wild Symbol five times across a payline will deliver the biggest injection to your bankroll, as it’s worth a solid 250x the stake. As for the regular symbols, the Dragon will fire up payouts of up to 100x, more than double that of the Phoenix, which delivers 40x for a full line of symbols. There’s quite the dropdown for the remaining premium symbols, with the Tiger awarding a maximum of 16x and the Turtle 12x for a winning combo of five. Playing cards, shock, horror, will deliver the smaller, but still decently-sized, maximum payouts of 8x for the Ace and King, 4x for the Queen and Jack, and 2x for the Ten and Nine.

One complaint I rarely have with Pragmatic Play is the staking options offered on the developer’s slots. Once again, you’re all well catered for with allowed minimum spins of €0.20 and a variety of other options between the maximum of €240.00.

Trees Of Treasure Slot Base Game

If you’re a fan of what most would consider more basic reel mechanics, then Trees of Treasure might prove a good fit, as there are no clusters, no cascades, no random reel modifiers, and instead, just 20-fixed paylines across a traditional 5×3 setup. The aim is to line up three or more (two or more for Wilds, Dragons, and Phoenixes) of the same symbol type across one of those paylines, starting from the first reel.

Trees Of Treasure Slot Bonus Features

Trees Of Treasure Slot Bonus Feature

On Trees of Treasure, the main bonus is a Hold & Win bonus called the Money Re-Spin Feature that begins when three or more scatter symbols drop onto the reels simultaneously and in any position.

Money Respin Bonus

If you’ve enjoyed Hold & Win bonus games on other slots, you’ll already know the drill here, although, for me, at least, this is one of the most unimaginative I’ve come across. That’s because only Money symbols drop onto the reels; there are no collector symbols, multipliers, or anything else of note. You’re given three respins, which is standard, and these reset back to three each time a new symbol lands on the 15-position grid. I should point out that the triggering scattering symbols carry over, so you have something to work with from the off. All Money Symbols are locked in place and will hold multipliers of between 1x and 10,000x. The colour of the coins and how many triggering scatter symbols there were both determine the multiplier range these symbols can have, which I’ll break down for you here:

Bronze Coins

  • Three Scatters: 1x – 100x
  • Four Scatters: 1.5x – 500x
  • Five Scatters: 2x – 1,000x

Silver Coins

  • Three Scatters: 2x – 500x
  • Four Scatters: 3x – 2,500x
  • Five Scatters: 4x – 5,000x

Gold Coins

  • Three Scatters: 4x – 1,000x
  • Four Scatters: 6x – 5,000x
  • Five Scatters: 8x – 10,000x

This bonus comes to its conclusion in one of two ways: you fill all positions with coin symbols, or you run out of re-spins. However it ends, you’ll receive the combined value of the coin symbols as a multiplier of your stake.

Ante Bet

Interestingly, Pragmatic Play has done away with the feature buy for this slot, but then again, would anyone even bother buying into such an unimaginative Hold & Win-style bonus in the first place? If you’re really itching to trigger the Money Respin feature, your best bet is to use the Ante Bet option, which adds extra scatter symbols to the reels for spins costing an additional 50% of your stake.

Pros

  • It’s not the worst slot I’ve played, but that’s not saying much.

Cons

  • 15,000x max win flatters to deceive, as this is unlikely to happen often, if ever.
  • No imagination is shown in the Hold & Win bonus game.

Trees Of Treasure Slot Review Final Thoughts

Trees of Treasure is far from the most creative of creations to come out of the Pragmatic Play stable in recent months, but there’s nothing wrong with that, as many players prefer straightforward slot action rather than confusing features, mechanics, and reel formats. Despite that, I cannot get past the feeling the developer has put its lazy hat back on for this one. The base game, while boring, at least delivers a few decent symbol payouts to keep you bouncing along. The thing is, you end up bouncing along just to trigger a Hold & Win bonus that is as basic as it gets. I get that Pragmatic Play is more prolific than anyone else, but what’s the point if the blockbusters come every ten releases?
