Usa Flip Slot (Play'n Go) Slot Demo & Review

You never know what to expect from Play’N’Go, especially when they name their latest game something as obscure as “USA Flip”! As it turns out, this is a motorbike racing, or perhaps motorbike stunt show-themed game – how many of those can you remember playing recently… or ever? The presentation is top-notch, but we’ve come to expect that from this developer by now. There isn’t anything surprising about the vital statistics, as the machine features a 96.20% RTP, 20 fixed paylines, and a maximum win of 5,000x your bet.

How about the features, then? Any surprises there? First up, there is a near-win re-spin feature triggered by losing spins that include at least one stack of matching symbols. That can be any spin on the paytable, including the wilds, but they must appear on reels one or two to qualify. During the re-spin feature, you can hit a stacked wild on reel three to start the walking wild feature, which will award additional re-spins where the stacked wilds move to the right one reel each time. These features are further enhanced if they occur during the free spins bonus round, which awards 12 free spins with flipped reel sets that apparently result in higher winning potential – I can only assume that the layout of the reel strips causes this behaviour, as Play’N’Go does not give any further explanation as to how the flipped reel set will benefit you!

That’s the synopsis, then – have you ever fancied yourself as Evil Knievil? If so, this game should be right up your street! Give our free demo slot of USA Flip a try below:

Usa Flip Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols

Usa Flip Slot Paytable
USA Flip slot paytable

I’m not quite sure why motorsport is such an unrepresented theme in the world of online slots. Sure, there have been a few games of note over the years, but you would have thought this would be a much more common theme than it seems to be. When it comes to motorbike racing specifically, the only other game I could find that was even remotely similar to this one was Dead Riders Trail, and it’s a tentative link at best. Considering how much Formula One used to cosy up to the tobacco industry until recently, it’s pretty surprising that they didn’t also decide to get more involved with betting and gambling. Even the NASCAR licensed game that used to be around back in the day seems to have disappeared as of 2022, perhaps due to the license expiring. Whatever the case, it’s a real shame – more racing-themed online slots, please, developers!

Many of Play’N’Go’s online slots look fantastic but fall somewhat short when it comes to the winnings listed on the paytables. USA Flip promises a maximum win of 5,000x your bet, but how realistic would such a win be? Let’s start with the scatters, which will pay you 2x your stake for three, 40x your bet for four, or 250x if you hit all five. Next, the wild symbol will pay you 250 coins for a full pay line of five-of-a-kind, which my calculations work out to be just 25x the bet. Sure, that would make for 500x your bet if you were to hit a full screen, but this is still a long way short of the advertised 5,000x. The highest-paying regular symbol is the sports bike worth 25x your bet for a full pay line, followed by the scorched tire or crash helmet at 4x your bet and the firework or gloves at 2x. I double-checked the numbers a few times as I couldn’t help thinking the decimal point must be wrong here somewhere, but I haven’t made a mistake as far as I can tell.

The betting range is determined by setting a coin value of between €0.01 and €1.00, resulting in a total bet of between €0.20 and €20.00 per spin. That’s quite a low maximum wager by top-tier slot standards, but it should still be enough to satisfy most players.

Base Game & Modifiers

Usa Flip Slot Base Game
USA Flip slot base game

Base gameplay takes place on a standard five reel, three row playfield with 20 fixed paylines spanning the reels. All winning combinations require at least three matching symbols starting from the left before a prize is won, with larger wins for four or five symbol combinations.

Respin Feature

If the first and second reels of a losing spin contain a full stack of matching symbols, the near-win re-spin feature will be triggered. The first two reels will be locked in place, whilst the remaining three will re-spin to give you a second shot at hitting a winning combination.

If a stack of wild symbols happens to land during the re-spin, the walking wild feature is also triggered. This will award two further re-spins, during which the stacked wilds will move towards the right edge of the reel set.

Usa Flip Slot Bonus Features

Usa Flip Slot Free Spins Feature
USA Flip slot free spins feature

Hitting three or more scatter symbols during the base game will award 12 free spins. No additional spins are awarded for hitting more than three scatter symbols, but you receive a cash prize of up to 250x your bet, which is a decent alternative, in my view!

Free Spins

During the free spins, the reel set is flipped into reverse, which Play’N’Go claims will result in much higher winning potential. During this mode, the re-spin feature can still be triggered, but if you hit the walking wild feature, the stack will move towards the left of the reels instead of the right, which is definitely advantageous to the player.

You can re-trigger the free spins by hitting three or more scatters whilst the bonus round is active, although the scatter symbols cannot be hit during any re-spin or walking wild features. The paytable mentions that the maximum number of spins is capped at 120, but I can’t see too many people hitting nine re-triggers in order to hit this limit!

Usa Flip Slot Review Final Thoughts

USA Flip is a fun game, but the winnings seem slightly disappointing, if I’m honest. The game reminds me a lot of Super Flip, which also had a lacklustre paytable, although perhaps it is just the backwards reel set that is making me think this!

I would probably give this one a try in real money mode, but I can’t see myself returning to it over the long term. Definitely not Play’N’Go’s best effort, I’m afraid.
