Game Overview
I’m not usually known for turning down an invitation to a party, but forgive me for deciding against attending one held by a bloodsucking vampire. He might have the best intentions at the start, but people like to drink at parties, and I’m not particularly fond of the idea that my blood could be used to top up the stocks behind the bar when they run dry. No, thank you. I’d rather keep my distance and enjoy the shindig from afar on the Pragmatic Play slot Vampy Party, a 6-reel game with 3,600 paylines, a 96% RTP, and a 5,000x the stake (not to be confused with a wooden stake) maximum win.
Yep, it’s the time of year when vampires, Dracula, werewolves, and all the other monsters become a popular attraction, and that means plenty of slots themed perfectly for the Halloween season. Pragmatic Play rarely skips a beat, so it’s no surprise that the developer gets in early to serve one up. On Vampy Party, you can expect a tumble mechanic with increasing win multipliers that can increase up to 1,024x the stake, a marked symbol feature that can create wild symbols and a free spins bonus that could see you start with a minimum win multiplier of 64x the stake.
This slot has quite a lot to live up to with this theme, as it has played its part in quite a few blockbuster slot releases over the years. Does it have the bite to compete? Check out the Vampy Party slot demo below to find out.
theme, stakes, pays & symbols
As mentioned, Vampires have proved quite the lucky charm for many slots over the years, as they’ve been part of some absolute classics. Blood Suckers from NetEnt and the Blood Suckers Megaways sequel handed across to Red Tiger Gaming from under the Evolution umbrella are two I recommend you take a stab at. Then there are Microgaming’s Immortal Romance and newer releases such as Play’n Go’s Wild Blood II and The Lost Boys from Blueprint Gaming, which are well worth a look at, too.
Most of the vampires in those slots look much more fiendish than the one in Vampy Vampire, but how the payouts compare is more interesting to me. The Vampire takes the top spot, with a 2.5x the stake return if he lines up six times across consecutive reels. He is followed by the Elvis Bat, worth up to 1.5x, and the CD and Blood Cocktail, which both return up to 1x. The Ace and King share a maximum reward of 0.5x, while the Queen and Jack top out at 0.25x. Wild symbols also play a part in creating the above winning combinations by substituting for each of the regular symbols.
Pragmatic Play always has a knack for making sure their games are accessible for all players with regard to staking options. This is again in play on Vampy Party, where the minimum bet starts at just €0.20 per spin, with plenty of intermediate bets available before you reach the maximum of €240.00 per round.
Base Game & Modifiers
Taking centre stage on the darkest and creepiest dancefloor you’re ever likely to see is the 6 reels of the Vampy Party slot. These are laid out in a 3-4-5-5-4-3 configuration that offers 3,600 ways to win. You receive payouts when three or more identical symbols line up across consecutive reels starting from the leftmost reel. All symbols in winning combinations disappear, and the tumble features drop more from above. Further wins create further drops, with the process repeating until a tumble does not reveal a winning combo.
Tumble Multipliers
As those tumble wins continue, a win multiplier, which starts at 1x, doubles after each occurs. That multiplier can increase to a maximum of 1,024x and resets at the start of a new spin. The global multiplier value applies to all symbol payouts that occur on the spin.
Marked Symbols
Symbols that are highlighted can randomly land on the third and fourth reels, and if they’re part of a winning combination, they’re transformed into wild symbols for the subsequent tumble.
Vampy Party slot bonus features
As the tumbling and multipliers combine to create chain reactions of wins, you’ll primarily want to land the three or more scatter symbols required to trigger the slot’s free spins bonus game. Alternatively, you can just buy it outright via the buy bonus feature, but more on that later.
Free Spins Feature
Once triggered, you receive 12 free spins of the reels, but with an 8x, 16x, 32x, or 64x base win multiplier depending on if 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatter symbols, respectively, landed on the triggering spin.
Before those free spins play out, you have the opportunity to gamble a larger win multiplier if you so wish. That is via a gamble feature that could double the multiplier up to a maximum of 256x or end the bonus game there and then if you guess the colour of the dial incorrectly. You’re not obliged to gamble and can collect your spins at any time.
The free spins play just like the base game, but now the global win multiplier always starts at the value awarded or won before the bonus game begins. Also, if another 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatters land during the free spins, you receive another 12 spins and the current multiplier is multiplied by 2x, 4x, 8x, or 16x. The maximum it can increase to is again set at 1,024x.
Ante Bet & Bonus Buy
To double the chance of landing scatter symbols and increase the possibility of triggering the free spins bonus, you can use the Ante Bet feature in the bottom left corner of the reels. It costs 40% on top of your current spin bet.
Alternatively, you can buy the bonus game outright:
- You can purchase 3 scatter symbols on the next spin for 78x the current stake.
- 150x gives you a guarantee of 4 scatters on the next spin.
- For 288x you’ll receive 5 scatters.
- Finally, you can spend 128x the stake to receive at least 3 scatters symbol but a chance to land more.
Pros
- It's an entertaining slot with some exciting bonus features with good winning potential.
- We always say it, but the design and delivery of a Pragmatic Play slot is always fantastic.
Cons
- I’m not sure it lives up to the many other quality vampire-themed slots we have at our disposal.
Vampy Party Slot Review Final Thoughts
This is a tough one for me, as I found Vampy Party to offer plenty of entertainment, and of course, the potential to create win multipliers of up to 1,024x the stake shouldn't be sniffed at. However, I think Pragmatic Play has missed a trick by not ramping up the winning potential by allowing those multipliers to carry over across free spins. It’d certainly be a slot I’d regularly return to if they did.
