Vegas Rush (Big Time Gaming) Slot Demo & Review

I’ve never had the chance to visit Las Vegas, although it’s certainly on my bucket list at some point during my life. I can imagine, though, that the rush of hitting it big in the world’s gambling capital is surely worthy of naming an online slot after! Big Time Gaming clearly agrees, as their new Megaclusters-based game Vegas Rush does, well, precisely that! Megaclusters games are grid slots that pay wins based on clusters of matching symbols – it’s a little more in-depth than that, but we’ll save the juiciest details for later! The remaining vitals include a 47,200x maximum jackpot, alongside a Return-to-Player percentage of 96.44%

We’ve got plenty of features to talk about, so I’ll just give a brief overview here; the Megatrail is a 12-rung ladder, a random position of which will be determined on every base game spin. The 12th rung will pay you an instant prize of up to 1,000x your bet, whilst lower rungs can deliver smaller prizes, free spins, or modifiers. The Megatrail is enhanced during the free spin bonus round, where the 12th rung prize is doubled to 2,000x, and even the lowest rungs are guaranteed to award random bonuses. Winning clusters create smaller symbols that make it more likely for further reactions – and therefore payouts – to occur. Of course, a bonus buy facility is available for those who are too impatient to wait to see all this game’s many features naturally!

We’ve all come to expect a lot from Big time Gaming by now – will this latest release be able to match their enviable reputation for high-quality slots? Find out with our free demo slot of Vegas Rush, available to play below!

When you first type in ‘Vegas’ into our search bar, the first result will likely be the excellent Dream Vegas online casino. I’d much rather hit that link than the next one – the Invading Vegas online slot, which was a bit of a damp squib, unfortunately. However, not all Vegas-themed slots are created equal, and Nolimit City’s excellent Benji Killed In Vegas is truly an excellent testament to that fact! Of course, Big Time Gaming produces entirely different types of slots to that specific competitor, and whilst Vegas Rush initially looks every bit as good, I can’t say just yet whether I prefer this game or Nolimit City’s slot. It’s time to dig deeper and find the answer.

Time to talk payouts – the biggest wins awarded in Vegas Rush are paid for hitting 25 for more matching symbols, and all of the purple diamonds, cherries, four-leaved clovers, triple-bars, and lucky horseshoes will all award you 50x your total bet for that magical maximum cluster. The two ‘low pays’ are the dice and the casino chip, each with a return of 30x the bet for 25 or more matching symbols anywhere on the reels.

As for the betting range, the minimum/maximum betting limits are pretty much what you’d expect from a BTG slot and have been set at €0.20 and €20.00 per spin, respectively.

Base Game & Modifiers

The Megaclusters series of slots is still in its infancy, and only time will tell if these games have what it takes to match the success of the Megaways games in the long run. It’s pretty unlikely, though, as there have been a handful of titles released now that haven’t exactly set the world alight.

As of Vegas Rush, gameplay begins on a 5×5 grid with a total of 25 symbols in play. Just keep in mind that you’ll need at least five matching symbols in adjacent positions to score yourself some winnings.

Megaclusters

Whenever a winning combination of five or more adjacent matching symbols appears on the reels, those symbols will be immediately removed from the playfield. Unlike over games that use cascading or rolling reel mechanics, however, those symbols get replaced by four smaller random symbols with identical values to the larger ones that they replaced.

When wins occur with these smaller symbols, things then play out like a typical rolling reels game, with smaller symbols falling in to fill the resulting gaps. Reactions continue until no more wins occur.

Megatrail

The Megatrail displayed to the left of the main reel set has 12 rungs, although not every rung contains a prize, feature, or bonus on every single spin. Rung 12 can contain cash prizes up to a maximum of 250x total bet, whilst rung 7 always awards 6 free spins.

Other Megatrail bonuses can add up to 10 wilds to the reels, 5x multiplier wilds, convert regular symbols into wilds, create giant mega wilds, and symbol upgrades, plus many more!

Vegas Rush Slot Bonus Features

Vegas Rush Slot Free Spins Feature

The only way to access the free spins in Vegas Rush is to hit that magical seventh rung of the Megatrail, but when you do, six extremely valuable free spins are yours!

Free Spins

In this mode, an enhanced Megatrail is in play, where rung 12 can now pay up to a maximum of 2,000x the total bet. Additional free spins can be won, bigger multipliers are available, and there is a whole range of other extremely lucrative win-boosting bonuses.

Bonus Buy

If you’d rather get straight into the thick of the free spins bonus, you can choose to activate them instantly at the cost of just 60x the current bet.

Pros

  • Great looking game, as we’ve come to expect from Big Time Gaming

Cons

  • Free spins can be hard to reach.
  • If you get a good Megatrail set-up in the free spins, it can feel very scripted by not letting you get very high up the ladder.

Vegas Rush Slot Review Final Thoughts

If you have played BTG's Millionaire Rush Megaclusters, then you have seen all this game has to offer before, unfortunately. I guess they remade it with this theme like they did Vegas Megaways purely for the USA market.
