They’ve been wild, gone berserk, visited hell, and taken a trip back to the land of their gods, Valhalla. I feel the creative juices are starting to run out regarding new destinations for these rage-filled Vikings to visit. Why? Because they’re now finding themselves in the most common of slot territories – Ancient Egypt, where they’ll have to defeat Cleopatra for you to win the big bucks! Vikings Go to Egypt is the latest in the series from Yggdrasil, and theme aside, I’m excited to get my hands on it. This latest Vikings adventure is played out across a 5×4 reel configuration with 25 fixed paylines, and the slot has a 94% RTP and a 4,375x max win.
I suspect this will please most of you but potentially scare off others: the Rage Meter for the four Vikings is back in full flow on Vikings Go Berzerk. Vikings Go To Egypt Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
Aside from the handful of slots preceding this one in the ‘Vikings Go’ series, there are plenty of other free slot options to try out if you like your men and women hairy, strong, and blonde. One of the main reasons for the popularity of this series, and also the reason why others do not like it, is the rage meters, which return once again in Vikings Go to Egypt. Situated to the reels’ left is a Rage Meter for each of the four main characters that fills up when the respective symbols are involved in winning combinations.
There are 700 points needed to fill each meter, and they’ll fill up by 4, 12, or 36 points each time the respective symbol lands in a 3, 4, or 5 combination. Yes, filling up these meters’s a long grind, but when you do, you’ll trigger 7 free spins with that character in berzerk mode.
Viking Berserk Mode
When a Viking goes Berzerk, it will always win its fight against Cleopatra in the regular free spins and Ragnarok free spins bonus games. Once victorious, the Viking symbol turns into a sticky wild that remains sticky for the duration of the particular free spins bonus.
Welcome Rage
Fortunately, when you load up the Vikings Go to Egypt slot for the first time in a session, one of the character’s meters is randomly chosen to start at least half full.
Silver & Gold Chests
Chest symbols can land during the base game and free spins bonus game. In the former, they can contain:
- Silver Chest (appears on the fourth reel): Holds cash rewards between 2x and 40x the stake or triggers 4, 14, or 21 free spins.

Vikings Go To Egypt Slot Bonus Features
There are two free spin bonus games on Vikings Go to Egypt, the first of which is easier to trigger and the second, which is considerably more difficult to land. Let’s see what both of these are below.
Free Spins
You can trigger the free spins bonus by landing 3, 4, or 5 scatter symbols anywhere in view, giving you 7, 14, or 21 free spins, respectively. Alternatively, you can trigger 7 free spins with a Berzerk Viking when you fill the rage meter of that particular character. Before the free spins start, one of the following features is randomly triggered for the bonus game:
- You can trigger the Ragnarok free spins bonus instead.
- You’ll receive between 1 and 3 additional free spins.
- An extra sticky wild is added to the reels at the start of the bonus.
- One reel is turned wild for the duration of the bonus game.
- At least 5 silver and 5 golden chests are added to the reels.
Speaking of chests, when they land during free spins, the potential rewards are as follows:

The only way to trigger the Ragnarok Free Spins Bonus is by getting lucky in a Golden Chest during the base game or through the bonus randomiser before the standard free spins bonus. Once triggered, the free spins play out with all four Viking characters in Berzerk mode.

If the grind gets too much for you, there’s always the buy bonus feature.

Personally, I've always been a fan of Yggdrasil’s Viking slots, but at the same time, I can see why some people avoid them like the plague. The mechanics are designed to keep you playing for long periods with the promise of Berzerked Vikings that will defeat Cleopatra on every turn and thus turn into sticky wilds. Those Rage Meters can take an age to fill, so this is not the slot for anyone planning a ten-minute session. If, like me, you enjoy sticking to a single slot for a night of gaming, though, the potential rewards of this one somewhat make it worth the effort.
