Tipster
The Tipster page loads automatically. Competitor stats can be viewed, and simple win bets can be placed on this page. Stats for the favourite are shown by default. To view the stats of a particular competitor, press anywhere on the row containing the competitor’s name and silk. The parade video will then show your chosen competitor along with associated stats to assist you in making your betting choices (not available on mobile). Stats consist of the number of Wins (1st place) and Places (2nd place). Also included are finishing positions in the last 6 races. The prediction visualisation shows the order, from greatest to least favourite, each competitor holds in the current race. Odds/returns are calculated according to the probability of each competitor winning.
Chance
This page offers some bigger payout opportunities. It automatically opens on the WIN / PLACE / SHOW & EACH WAY bets tab. More bets can be navigated via the adjacent FORECAST & TRICAST tab.
- WIN / PLACE / SHOW & EACH WAY
WIN bets are selected from the first column (left) in the same way as on the TIPSTER page. After a win bet is selected, however, you may then select an additional EACH WAY (EW) bet for your selection by pressing the white box to the immediate right of the placed chip. This is a second bet, which adds another stake of the same value as the win stake. Each Way bets pay the first 2 places in races with 5 to 7 competitors and the first 3 places in races with 8 or more competitors.If your selection wins, you win both the WIN bet and the Positional bet.If your selection comes in 2nd or 3rd, you only win the 2nd or 3rd position bet.
PLACE bets (selected from the middle column) are selected, predicting which competitor will finish in one of the first 2 positions.
SHOW bets (selected from the right column) are selected, predicting which competitor will finish in one of the first 3 positions.
- FORECAST & TRICAST
A FORECAST bet is a single bet consisting of 2 selections. It pays when both the winner and the 2nd place finishers are predicted in the correct order. To select a bet, choose your winner from the 1st column. Your number selection will be shown under YOUR PREDICTION. The second column will now become activated for you to place your second finisher prediction. The potential return shown in the returns field (bottom right) will be based on the currently selected or placed chip. The Tipster’s prediction is shown for your guidance only.
A TRICAST bet is also a single bet consisting of 3 selections. This predicts 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers to win in that particular order and pays out when all selections finish accurately. The YOUR PREDICTION field reflects this selection in the same way as the FORECAST bet.
Only 1 TRICAST or FORECAST bet can be selected or placed at a time before adding to the bet slip or clearing the page. You may then select and place more bets as the page is cleared. If you want to alter the selections made in each column, you may select a different runner per column until you are happy with your selection. You cannot choose the same competitor to finish in more than 1 of the 3 positions.
Specials
This page holds casino related bet types:
- ODD OR EVEN: To predict the winner to be either an ODD or EVEN number, select either associated returns fields.
- BLACKJACK: Select this returns field if you predict that the sum of the first 3 competitor numbers to finish will equal 21.
- BACCARAT: Select this returns field if you predict that the sum of the first 2 competitor numbers to finish will equal 9.
- LAYING THE FAVOURITE: Select this if you predict the TIPSTER’S chosen favourite (shown in the returns field) will not finish within the top 3.
- ANY 7: Select this returns field if you predict that the sum of the first 2 competitor numbers to finish will equal 7.
Pros
- Lots of handy betting buttons make it easy to place your bets.
- Can play for as little as €0.20.
- The Key side bet could land players 100x the bet payout.
Cons
- The RTP is lower than regular roulette tables due to the Key Bet. If you’re not planning to use that side bet, play a regular roulette game to receive more favourable odds.
Virtual Horse Racing Review Final Thoughts
If you’re after an interesting variant of roulette to play that has something different compared to the likes of our 20p Roulette demo, Key Bet Roulette is well worth a look. However, only play this title if you plan on placing that side bet. There’s no other reason to play if not, as you’re sacrificing house edge without taking the chance to win the bigger payouts.
