Volatile Vikings 2 Dream Drop Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
I have lost count of the number of high-quality online slots I have played that have the Vikings as their primary theme. Just in the last year or two, we have seen impressive new games such as Book of Vikings (Pragmatic Play), Queen of the Vikings (Skywind), and Story of Vikings (Spinomenal), not to mention the more established games from the likes of NetEnt and Yggdrasil. In short, this hugely popular theme often goes hand in hand with the similarly popular Norse gods theme. Whilst Volatile Vikings doesn’t do anything tremendously impressive in the presentation department – the symbols don’t even strike me as obviously Viking-based – Relax has seemingly done their best to balance things by giving the game some enormous jackpot prizes.
The unusual scatter-pays mechanic of Volatile Vikings 2 means you need to hit twelve matching symbols anywhere on the screen to win the biggest prizes. The highest-paying symbol is a red mask with a return of 50x your bet for 12, 25x your bet for 10, or 10x your bet for 8. The lion mask takes second place, paying 25x your bet for the maximum combination of 12, followed by the green mask at 15x, the purple mask at 12x, and the blue mask at 10x. There are four more lower-paying symbols designated by runes which look to be carved into pieces of wood but are most easily recognised by their much smaller appearance in comparison to the mask symbols. In addition to the scatter-pays mechanic, wins are removed from the reels immediately after landing. This means that you can potentially win several times from a single paid spin, and I often found that a single win would regularly turn into two, three, or perhaps even more whilst I was testing the game.

This unusual payout mechanic requires at least eight matching symbols on the screen to receive a prize, with the largest winnings requiring at least 12 identical symbols before they are awarded. With 30 spaces available each round, there is a chance to hit two or three different winning collections of symbols from a single paid spin.
Multiplier Reveal Feature
As soon as you play Volatile Vikings 2 Dream Drop, you will immediately notice that two unique symbols always seem to drop on the third and fourth reels. Well observed, my friend! Each time a winning combination is removed from the reels, and a cascade occurs, the counter on these symbols will drop by one. If the counter reaches zero, the modifier will activate.
When the multiplier reveal is triggered, any symbols that are adjacent to the special symbol will be destroyed, allowing new symbols to fall into view and creating a new multiplier reveal symbol. Quite the game you have here then, Relax! It’s fantastic to see a new progressive hit the scene, and I do not doubt that a bunch of players will try their luck in this game in the coming weeks and months. The base game isn’t too shabby either, although it certainly isn’t anything special. The main thing is that it is fun and has decent big win potential by itself, two boxes that are easily checked here, and the progressives take the game to a completely different level, in my view.
