Peter & Sons is a game provider that likes to do things a little differently and think outside of the box regarding the slots they create. So, I was pleased to see their slot Voodoo Hex arrive in my inbox this morning to see what the developer had up their sleeve for this release. As I’ve now come to expect from this provider, the design and graphics of the slot are both unique to Peter & Sons and of very high quality, so it’s the usual thumbs up in that department from me. The Voodoo theme isn’t one that is too overused within iGaming, but a couple of suggestions to try out if you enjoy this genre is the Voodoo Temple slot from Blueprint Gaming and the excellent Voodoo Gold from Elk Studios.
It’s over to what you can win next on Voodoo Hex, and the playfield may be small on this slot title, but the paytable still manages to consist of 9 symbols. The lower paying values are represented by 4 different coloured tarot cards, reaching up to 1.2x in value if you hit 3 across a payline. Premium paying symbols are the Voodoo Doll, Shrunken Head, Snake, and Priestess, with a 3 of a kind win paying 1x, 1.5x, 2x, and 2.5x, respectively. Mystery Stack Respins
The mystery stack respins can become active in the base game, and the free spins feature on Voodoo Hex. Each respin that takes place will see the mystery symbols move down one position with them all, then revealing the same randomly selected symbol from the payable. The seasoned slot players amongst you will almost instantly see the similarities between Voodoo Hex and Push Gaming's classic slot title, Razor Shark. However, unlike Razor Shark, Voodoo Hex doesn't charge you in the base game when the mystery symbols are in play. Anyway, to sum up, I found the game thoroughly entertaining during my review. It made a welcome change to play across just 3 reels without countless modifiers kicking in on every spin to expand this, that, and everything else.
