Wild 1 Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
The name “Wild One” is non-specific enough that you could probably use any theme you liked for a slot named this way, then simply mould the game around what you have. As it turns out, though, Peter & Sons have chosen to go with a Rock and Roll aesthetic and soundtrack made all the “wilder” by an alien-like creature rocking out with his guitar to the left of the reels. The developer turns things up to eleven by having this dude standing on a piece of wood, seemingly being hovered over a junkyard by a crane. Damn, Peter & Sons… that’s pretty wild. As for other music-themed slots to try out, if this has got you in the mood, I’d suggest Ultra Disco from Platipus Gaming or the excellent The Crypt from Nolimit City.
A first look at the Wild One slot paytable doesn’t appear very impressive, but I always have to remind myself when reviewing games which use huge numbers of pay ways that the numbers shown on these screens are usually fairly meaningless. I mean, sure, it’s great knowing that a six-of-a-kind of the top wild symbol returns 5x your stake and all, but it almost tells you more about the ways you are NOT going to win a jackpot than the ways that you are. The other “high-paying” symbols return just 3x your stake for six-of-a-kind and 1.5x, so no, those are not the key to the big money in Wild One either. No, you are going to need big stacks of matching symbols on adjacent reels and wins on many hundreds of pay ways simultaneously to hit the big money whilst playing this game.
There’s a decent enough betting range to suit any slots player who isn’t stupidly rich – a minimum bet of €0.20 per spin will suit most low-rollers, and there are plenty of options between this minimum and the €5.00 or so level, which most players would call their limit. You can bet up to a maximum of €50.00 per spin if you are so inclined.
Base Game & Modifiers
The main game makes use of a 5×4 playfield with all possible payways being active for winnings. This gives a total of 1,024 pay ways, with winnings being evaluated from left-to-right in the traditional fashion. The game makes use of “cascading wins”, a feature which has many names in the online slot industry, but this simply means that any winning combinations are immediately removed from the reels, allowing new symbols to drop in from the top of the screen. In turn, this makes it possible to win several times from a single paid spin.
Wild Reel Feature
The games headline “wild reel” feature has several tiers which are unlocked by means of the bomb feature, which we’ll be coming to in just a moment. The wild reel can contain regular wild symbols, “unbreakable” wilds, expanding wilds, or, if it just isn’t your day, blank spaces. Which symbols can appear on the wild reel depends on your current tier, as follows:
- The reels can contain only regular wilds, or blanks.
- The wild reel can now also additionally contain wilds with multipliers
- Wild reels can now contain unbreakable wilds in addition to all previous options
- The final tier adds expanding wilds to all previous possibilities
The wild reel is indicated by a single wild symbol, which appears in an additional row along the top of the regular reel set. When a winning combination removes symbols from the current playfield, this is when the wild reel will begin to be filled with the symbols contained in the tier list above. To progress from one tier to a higher one, you will need to activate the bomb feature two times.
Bomb Feature
The bomb feature is only activated when two scatter symbols fall on the screen. If a third scatter appears, the game will launch the free spin bonus round instead of the bomb feature. Scatter symbols are counted at the end of all wins and cascades, so it is possible for a screen to land containing no scatters but for two to drop into view later, triggering the bomb feature.
When the bomb feature activates, a 3×3 area around each scatter will explode and trigger a larger cascade, which sometimes results in a second bomb feature being activated one after the other. Every two times the bomb feature activates, your current tier level for the Wild Reel feature is increased.
Wild 1 Slot Free Spins Feature
If three or more scatters are present on screen at the end of all cascades and wins being awarded, Wild One online slot will award its free spin bonus round. Ten free spins are awarded for three scatter symbols, with one more free spin being added for any additional scatters above the initial three.
Free Spins Feature
The free spins bonus round is played with the same feature set as the main game, so your current tier level is carried over into the bonus round. The scatter symbols do remain on the reels during free spins, however, so it is possible to unlock additional tiers by activating the bomb feature during free spins.
Any scatters landing during the free spin feature also add one additional free spin to your remaining counter. Finally, a multiplier of between 1 and 10 is applied to the wild reel at the beginning of each free spin during this feature.

One interesting side note about Wild One is that there is a bonus buy feature available if this is permitted in your jurisdiction. The interesting part is that buying the feature awards 15 free spins rather than the usual ten, making this quite an appealing option if you want to access an extended bonus round without waiting around for the scatter to symbols to land organically.
