Playtech is obviously keeping a close eye on the devices players are using to play their games, as the user interface they have created here is obviously targeted at tablet and smartphone users. It’s a 25 fixed payline game with an RTP of between 93.49% and 96.48% – the information pages are somewhat ambiguous in this regard. The same pages also mention that the maximum win is capped, but frustratingly the game does not reveal what that cap is.
Several modifiers and features are included, many based around the games wild and golden wild symbols. An arrow symbol appears on the reels which interact with these wilds to trigger the Wild Linx bonus, so there is plenty of base game action to keep you entertained whilst you are waiting for the free games feature to show up.

Wild Linx Powerplay Jackpot Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
It’s tricky to nail down just what the theme of Wild Linx is meant to be – the Powerplay Jackpot logo resembles the classic “Welcome to Las Vegas” banner, but the reel sets feature a mixture of playing card suits, fruits, and special X symbols. Overall, the presentation looks futuristic and, in many ways, looks like it could represent the next evolution of online slot machines – only time will tell of course, but I can imagine other developers copying this style soon as it is both very attractive and extremely functional.
Something which has bugged me about many recent online slots has been the lack of any payout attached to the wild and scatter symbols. Playtech is an old school developer, however, and still believes in assigning a chunk of RTP to these symbols – just as it should be, in my view. The scatter symbol is represented by a bell in Wild Linx and pays 100x your bet for all five, or 10x for four. The regular symbols are not quite so generous – the highest-paying regular symbol is the watermelon, yet it pays just 6x your stake for five-of-a-kind. The pineapple, plum, and peach symbols each pay 4x your stake for all five, and the rest of the paytable is made up of low paying royal symbols. So, the question is – how do you win big playing Wild Linx?
The betting range of this slot is nothing short of ludicrous – low rollers can bet €0.10 per spin if they wish, no problem there, but I kept skipping through the options and was amazed to find that the game permits you to bet as much as €500.00 per spin! I don’t know if this is just a quirk of the demo mode, but if you really can bet that sort of money per spin then it is nothing short of insanity!
Base Game & Modifiers
Things look relatively normal when first loading up Wild Linx – you have a 5×3 playfield spanned by 25 fixed paylines, with typical bet size, game speed, autoplay, and spin buttons positioned underneath the main reel area. Above the reels, you can see the current values of the four progressive jackpots, but I noticed that these numbers updated as I changed the value of my stake. With a little further investigation I learned that the real progressive jackpots are the “Powerplay” numbers shown on the left. If you are playing in demo mode you will not be able to see the current value of these jackpots, but Playtech has wisely chosen to link these prizes across all casinos that offer this game, which will no doubt ensure you can win some truly impressive prizes.
A single paragraph describing the play area eg. 5×3, mention the number of paylines again, explain how wins are awarded, whether by pay line, clusters, any consecutive reels containing matching symbols (ways) etc. All base game features to be described in separate sections below.
Arrow Feature
There are two different wild symbols in Wild Linx – a standard wild and a golden wild. Both types of wilds only appear on reels two through five, whilst the arrow symbol can appear on reels one and two only.
You’ll need to hit at least one arrow symbol and four wild symbols in order to trigger the Wild Linx feature – see the bonus section below for more details.
Wild Linx Powerplay Jackpot Slot Free Spins Feature
In addition to the Wild Linx feature, Playtech has also included a Free Games Feature which is triggered by hitting three or more scatter symbols. You do not receive any additional free games for hitting more than three scatters, but you do receive a chunky payout for hitting four or five triggering scatters, which goes a long way towards making up for this!
Wild Iinx Feature
When all five reels land containing either an arrow symbol, a wild symbol, or a gold wild symbol, the Wild Linx feature will be triggered. The game will then pause, and you are required to select each of the wild and golden wild symbols in turn. If you are lucky, selecting a wild will elevate it to a golden wild.
Each wild symbol will award a cash prize equivalent to the value shown on the triggering arrow symbol, with the addition of a random multiplier between 2x and 8x.
Golden wild symbols are much more valuable and will award one of the jackpots displayed above the reel set – you can win multiple MINI, MAJOR, MINOR, or GRAND jackpots from a single activation of the Wild Linux feature.
At the end of the feature, all your prizes will be tallied up to create your final win. This feature can pay huge amounts, and from my testing was even more profitable than the free spins bonus.
Free Games Feature
There are two free game features to choose from when hitting three or more scatters – the “Stacks Free Games” or the “X Free Games”.
The Stacks Free Games are the lower volatility option. You will receive 8 free games with all low paying symbols removed from the reels. You can retrigger the Stacks Free Games by hitting three or more scatter symbols which will add eight more free games to your remaining counter.
If you prefer your bonus rounds with a little more “oomph”, give the X Free Games a try instead – you’ll only receive five free games, but the number of arrow and X symbols on the reel strips is dramatically increased, giving you a far greater chance of triggering the Wild Linx feature. Just as with the Stacks Free Games, the scatter symbols remain on the reels allowing you to retrigger the feature with an additional five free games.

Wild Linx takes a little getting used to, but that is always the way when playing slots with new and innovative features. Some games are complicated just for the sake of it, but that is not the case here – Wild Linx is an excellent return to form for Playtech, and thoroughly recommended.
