Can the developer continue that trend with Wild Yield? First impressions seem good – the game uses “connected payways”, which is a fairly unusual payout mechanic that requires symbols to land on adjacent rows in addition to reels. This gives a total of 259 active pay ways on a 5×5 grid, which is a good start, but things really begin to get exciting when you see the top win of 50,000x your bet – is such a number realistic? We’ll give you our opinions later in this review! The RTP, meanwhile, ranges between 96.12% during regular play and 96.5% when purchasing a bonus round.
Wild Yield features several “Weather Symbols”, which are special transforming wilds that will convert several unconnected positions of the grid into wilds. There are five different weather symbols, four of which appear during the base game only, while the fifth “Fire” symbol is also available during free spins. You’ll need at least three bonus symbols to trigger those free spins unless you opt to purchase the feature using the bonus buy facility. This game also has a somewhat unique feature in that you can choose to purchase additional free spins at the end of your bonus round, which could be worth the cost if you have already accumulated a significant number of weather symbols on the free spin grid.

Wild Yield Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
It’s difficult to say which other games to compare the theme of Wild Yield to – the backgrounds and symbols feature farms, scarecrows, and a range of fruits and vegetables. I guess that Farm Invaders has a similar feel to it, but that game was a relatively typical online slot compared to Wild Yield. The ability to extend your bonus round by paying for additional free spins is particularly unique and reminds me of the Slingo games I have reviewed recently. Overall, Wild Yield seems like an especially unique and innovative online slot that deserves to create a buzz for its developers Relax Gaming.
You might not feel very impressed when you see the numbers on the paytable of Wild Yield, however; the highest-paying symbol looks a lot like an Orange to me, although it seems a little bit leafy and may actually be a different vegetable or fruit that I can’t think of from the top of my head! Either way, the orange-like symbol will pay you 3x your bet for each connected pay way of five-of-a-kind, followed by the Apple (pretty sure on this one!) at 2.5x, the Lettuce? At 2x, and a Blackcurrant worth 1.5x your bet for each complete connected payway. There are also four lower-paying royal symbols, all of which are worth 1x your bet for a completed payway. The wild symbol is listed separately on the paytable but only has the same return as the regular top-paying orange symbol.
The betting range available in Wild Yield may seem a little tight considering that this a first-tier online slot; the minimum bet is just €0.10, whilst the maximum is set at €20.00 per round. I suspect that the reason for the lower-than-usual top bet is the huge 50,000x maximum win.
Base Game & Modifiers
The base game takes place on a 5×5 playfield, and there are 259 possible routes from left to right, which will result in a winning combination. The “connected pay ways” payout mechanic used by the Wild Yield online slot requires that all winning combinations feature symbols on adjacent reels and rows – think of this as every symbol needs to be connected either side-to-side or corner-to-corner if that helps.
Weather Symbols
When a weather symbol lands on the reel, it will transform other positions on the playfield into wild symbols. The symbols which will be converted depend on a couple of things. By default, each weather symbol will only choose one or two of the patterns shown on the paytable to be converted into wild symbols. Still, a so-called “super pattern” may occasionally appear, meaning that all four possible areas shown on the table will be transformed into wilds.
The Tornado weather symbol will convert three symbols in at least two of the grid’s four corners into wild symbols, whilst the Rain symbol acts on two sets of three symbols separated by one empty position. The lightning symbol will convert vertical strips of three symbols into wilds, whilst the earthquake acts on sets of four symbols arranged in a square configuration.
The special fire weather symbol only appears during the free spin bonus round and can convert up to ten random positions into wilds when it makes a rare appearance.
Wild Yield Slot Bonus Features
You’ll need to hit at least three bonus symbols during the base game to win yourself some free spins, with each additional bonus symbol awarding one extra free spin on top of this. That does seem a little bit tight, in my opinion – I hit four bonus symbols a couple of times and felt I should have received more than one extra spin for this additional luck. I guess that the math did not allow for any such generosity.
Free Spins
During the free spin mode, any weather symbols that land and create wild symbols will be sustained between spins. This isn’t exactly a free lunch, however, as the weather symbols that you collect will only activate on a further free spin that also includes a weather symbol landing in view. Each time that this happens, all wild and multiplier symbols that have previously been collected will be applied to the grid, and you are likely to hit several wins before the wilds are eliminated from view.
After you have used up your six+ free spins, the game will offer you the chance to buy an additional free spin for a fixed cost. This cost is determined based on how many weather symbols you have already collected – the more weather symbols and multipliers you have stashed away, the more expensive an additional spin might be.
My experience whilst testing this game showed that it was often a good idea to purchase a couple of additional spins, but once the price becomes more than you are comfortable with, be sensible and hit the no button! Also, if you happen to collect the maximum of 10 weather symbols, the game will no longer offer you the chance to purchase an additional spin.
Bonus Buy
If the base game is not exciting enough for your tastes, you can opt to skip straight to the free spin bonus round for a cost of 90x the regular price per spin. This seems like a great deal, in my opinion, and I would definitely take advantage of this option if it were available in my jurisdiction.
I played many bonus rounds as I was testing this slot, and whilst not all of them were profitable, I didn’t seem to lose too much on the ones that did deliver a loss. Overall, I feel that this feature’s risk to reward ratio is set perfectly.

Another hit game for Relax – can these guys do no wrong at the moment?! The bonus round is especially exciting in this one, and you’ll be buzzing to see what your results are each time you hit the scatter symbols. The option to purchase additional spins can result in some tough choices, but it’s a choice you will always be happy to make.
