Worms Of Valor Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
Although we’re yet to review them – we’ll get to them, we promise; Blueprint Games has developed the official Worms and Worms Reloaded branded slots, which you can check out if you’re wondering what I was going on about in the intro. Aside from those and AvatarUX’s Worms of Valor slot, of course, you’ll struggle to find many other worm-themed slots around. However, these poor creatures usually only get mentioned as bait in fishing-themed slots such as Nolimit City’s Ugliest Catch.
The next stop is the paytable, which is broken down into Super High, High, Medium, and Low pays. The top paying super symbol is the King Worm, worth 4x bet for a winning combination of five, whilst six large Worm Characters represent the high pays, with each of the Red, Orange and Pink Characters returning 2x bet, and the Green, Blue and Dark Green Worms paying 1.8x. Next comes the medium pays with the Axe, Trident and Spearhead all with equal pays of 0.9x for a completed line of five, and the Arrow, Shield and Flint sharing awards of 0.7x. Finally, we have the low pays represented by the royals, where the Ace, King and Queen all return 0.3x bet, whilst the Jack, Ten and Nine all pay 0.25x for a five of a kind hit.

Worms Of Valor Slot Base Game
At the start of any base game spin, there are five reels and four rows, with an additional horizontal reel above the main reels. That gives you an initial 2,048 ways to win, but as you’ll find out later, those win lines will increase as winning combinations come your way. As Worms of Valor is a Pays Both Ways slot, you can create wins by landing three or more matching symbols on successive reels from left to right or from right to left.
Popscades
AvatarUX has developed numerous innovative mechanics over the years, and one of the latest is the Popscade mechanic, last seen on the developer’s GemPops slot. All winning symbols disappear, allowing others to cascade in from above – but that’s not all, as the reels involved in the winning combos will extend by two positions. In the base game, each reel can increase to a maximum of 6 symbols high.
Zapreel
There’s a fancy name for the horizontal 5-position reel above the main reels, too, called the ZapReel; this reel can hold various symbols and rewards:
- Regular Symbols: Standard reel symbols can appear on the ZapReel™ and contribute to the winning combinations below. However, they can also hold random win multipliers that apply to the symbol combination payouts.
- Wild Symbols: Wilds can also appear on the ZapReel™, and in fact, that reel is the only place they can appear. Wild symbols can substitute for regular symbols when they can help create a winning combo.
- Cash Prizes: if a win is created on the reel below, you win the cash value of the Cash Prize symbol on the ZapReel™.
The ZapReel has a couple of other symbols that land only during the free spins bonus, so I’ll get to those a little later.
Boost Symbol
Each time a Boost symbol lands on the main reels, it will boost the symbol that appears on the ZapReel above. It adds or increases a multiplier to regular symbols, does the same to wilds, and will increase the value of the prize offered by a Cash Prize symbol.
Ante Bet
To spin with the double chance of entering the free spins bonus, you can turn on the Ante Bet feature found within the Xpress menu to the right of the reels. It costs 25% on top of your current bet.
Worms Of Valor Slot Bonus Features

I’ve been a fan of AvatarUX ever since the developer burst on the scene back in 2019, and they continue to be creative with their pop mechanic, integrating it into some fantastic themes. However, I appreciate that some players might be tiring of the whole Popwins thing, and in that case, this is a game you'll likely turn off reasonably sharpish.
