Worms Reloaded (Blueprint) Slot Demo & Review

It’s amazing to think the Worms series of video games dates back to 1995. It also makes me feel incredibly old, as I had a few of the earlier games on my Amiga 500 back in the day. My friends and I had a great time cramped around the monitor, taking turns trying to defeat each other’s squad of worms. That’s why I was delighted to learn I’d be reviewing Worms Reloaded, the second Worms slot released by Blueprint Gaming following Worms, which launched in 2012. Worms Reloaded is a 5-reel, 3-row, and 20-payline slot with a 92.66% RTP, a 50,000x max win, and a ton of features.

This slot is all about the worms and their different abilities. There’s the Worms Grenade, which can trigger Banana Bomb Wilds; the Holy Hand Grenade, which adds more bonus symbols to the reels; Teleport Mayhem symbol transformations; and the Concrete Donkey, which can create wild reels. The slot also features four different bonus games ranging from picking games to a progressive multiplier trail and free spins. Finally, on any spin, you might land yourself a Jackpot King progressive jackpot!

Even if you’ve never played the Worms series of video games, this Worms Reloaded slot game is well worth checking out. You won’t even have to go far to do so, as we have the Worms Reloaded slot demo below!

In my opinion, Blueprint Gaming is the king of branded slots, but usually, the developer focuses on popular movies, cartoons, and television series rather than video games. A good example is the Inspector Gadget slot I reviewed recently – which, like Worms Reloaded, is packed with entertaining features, modifiers, and bonus games. Other notable mentions include The Goonies Hey You Guys and Ted 2 Afterparty, two slots that received good scores here at Demoslot.

Onto the paytable next, and the Wild Symbol, which also substitutes for all regular symbols when winning combinations are possible, shares the top spot in terms of symbol payouts along with the Worms Reloaded logo, both returning 500x the stake for a 5-symbol combo. The Bomb and Missile symbols follow and share a 200x max payout, while the Fire Punch and Shotgun are worth up to 100x. The lower pays come from the Ace and King, which return a maximum of 80x, and the Queen and Jack, which can reward up to 40x.

Before spinning the reels on the Worms Reloaded slot game, you’ll want to use the up and down arrows above the current stake to find an ideal spin bet. The lowest you can wager per spin is €0.20, and the maximum is €500.00.

Aside from the Wild symbol and the Worms Reloaded logo, which require two or more matching symbols to create a winning combination, you’ll need three or more of all other symbols. Those combos must start on reel one and move along one of the slot’s 20 paylines across consecutive reels to the right.

The Worms Grenade

On any spin, the Worms Grenade can appear and explode to reveal one of four special features:

  • Banana Bomb Wilds: This adds a random number of Banana Bomb wild symbols to the reels. If a Worm fires his bazooka, all wilds are held in place for a re-spin.
  • Holy Hand Grenade: This adds a random number of bonus scatter symbols to the reels, thus increasing the chances of triggering the free spins bonus game.
  • Teleport Mayhem: This rearranges the reels on the reels to guarantee a winning combination. The symbols continue to do this until the worm blows himself up.
  • Concrete Donkey: This creates a random number of fully wild reels.

Worms Reloaded Slot Bonus Features

On top of the four random features, it is possible to trigger up to four different free spins bonus games. These trigger when you land scatter symbols on the first and third reels and one of the four bonus-specific scatter symbols on the fifth reel.

Bonus Rounds

  • Battleground Bonus: This is a picking game that involves picking random mines until the ‘Collect’ symbol is revealed. Players can receive multiplier prizes and/or one of the other bonus games.
  • Jetpack Bonus: This is a two-stage bonus game that starts with a progressive trail game. Players select from multiple UFO symbols to move along the trail, which increases a bet multiplier along the way. That stage of the bonus continues until a mine or dynamite is revealed to end the bonus or the player reaches stage 2. If the latter, players get to pick a planet to reveal a large multiplier prize.
  • Blitz Blast Free Spins: Players receive free spins of the reels, which continue until a fuse to the right of the reel burns out, ending the feature. As the Fuse gets shorter, the global win multiplier increases.
  • Super Sheep Free Spins: You receive 6 free spins on a new set of 5×4 reels. Up to three Super Sheep symbols can appear on the reels on every spin, and when they do, they will add random wilds to positions on the reels. At the end of the bonus, a picking game gives you a chance to re-trigger the bonus.

Jackpot King

Randomly, on any spin, the Jackpot King Bonus can trigger. It gives players a chance to win a multiple of their stake or one of the three progressive jackpots.

Pros

  • A great combination of features and bonus games.
  • There’s a chance of winning the jackpot King progressive jackpots.

Cons

  • The RTP is low, although that’s because of the contributions to the progressive jackpots.

Worms Reloaded Slot Review Final Thoughts

Worms Reloaded certainly takes me back to my younger days, especially the names of the bonus features, which were weapons and abilities you could use against your opponents. Aside from the nostalgia this slot delivers, this game has a great combination of features that I enjoyed working my way through. It's worth a look - especially if you’ve enjoyed the Worms series of video games over the years.
