After reading around about the Yakuza in preparation for a review of another of PG Soft’s slot games, the main thing that stuck in my head was the complex code of conduct these organised crime groups live by. It’s a big deal that could lose you your pinky finger, or at least part of it, if you violate it. Called yubitsume, this ritual involves amputating your little finger and sending it to the elder you seek redemption from. I wonder what happens when you run out of pinky fingers? Yakuza Honor slot theme, stakes, pays & symbols
It’s believed the Yakuza has been around since the 17th Century, back in the early days of the Samurai warrior, and that even today, there are tens of thousands of active members. Both the Yakuza and the Samurai have been used as slot themes occasionally, primarily, as you’d expect, in Asian slots. Cascading Reels & Wild Symbols
Winning symbols are removed from the reels, causing a cascade that allows more to fall from the top of the grid. Wild symbols also appear in some of the positions left vacant. Combinations involving 5, 6, or 7 matching symbols reveal 1, 2, or 3 wild symbols, respectively.
Multiplier Reel
Directly below each reel is a multiplier box that is initially empty. However, each time a symbol on a reel is involved in a winning combination, it becomes active and increases by 1x. Free Spins Feature
If three scatter symbols trigger the bonus, you receive 12 free spins and an additional two spins for each additional scatter. I certainly found the theme interesting, although that’s more down to the fact that it's not one that is massively overused. The base game also plays along quite nicely, thanks to the combination of features implemented. Combos produce wild symbols, and cascades increase reel multipliers - both helping to increase your winning potential the longer a chain reaction of cascades continues. That continues into the free spins bonus, albeit with even more winning potential due to the persistent reel multipliers.
