Game Overview

Zeus is a popular guy around these parts. We seem to run into him every other week here at Demoslot; if he’s not starring in his latest game, he’s acting as a god who provides wilds via lightning bolts or sending up wild horses from under the sea to boost your winnings in the latest online slots. Fair play to the guy, I say – this dude was a celebrity long before the concept of celebrity was even invented; he was smashing it just for the respect! Zeus – Kingdom of Riches is Skywind Group’s contribution to the Zeus fan club, a 40-payline online slot with a 10,000x maximum win (slightly obfuscated by the paytable, which gives this figure as 200,000x your coin bet). As for the RTP, that comes in at a steady 96%.

Let’s talk about the feature set next; the game includes both standard wilds and multiplier wilds, each of which can have a value of 2x, 3x, or 5x. The lightning bolt symbol acts as a scatter, but you’ll need a minimum of five of them to win yourself some free spins. The value of those free spins is boosted by a “vase room”, which grants you 3 to 8 picks before the bonus round begins. Each vase contains additional free spins, multipliers, wild symbols, or additional reels. If you feel particularly brave, you can gamble your free spins for extra picks in the vase room if you wish. A bonus buy feature is also available, including an option for eight vase picks if you are comfortable with its price.

I know that Zeus has already been featured as the protagonist in a couple of dozen online slots, but if this game is anything to go by, it seems that he still has a lot to offer; with that in mind, why not give our free demo slot of Zeus Kingdom of Riches a few spins below?

Think I’m joking when I talk about the popularity of Zeus? Let’s take a look at a few games from our archive, and I have no doubt you will soon change your mind! There’s Wild Link Zeus, Age of Gods, and, more recently, Athens Megaways, just for starters. Pragmatic Play has released several games featuring this most popular of the Greek gods, the latest of which was Gates of Olympus, and let’s not forget Play’N’Go’s fantastic and wildly popular Rise of Olympus, along with its recent sequel Rise of Olympus 100. However you try and slice it, Zeus really is a superstar when it comes to any game with a Greek mythology/history theme, and that trend looks set to continue for some time if Skywind’s latest game turns out to be a winner. So, on to the big question – does this game have what it takes to compete with all of the other Zeus-themed online slots? Let’s dig into the paytable and find out!

Before we make sense of this paytable, just a quick note to say that Skywind hasn’t implemented an auto-updating paytable in this game, so the numbers listed on the paytable must be multiplied by the coin bet to get the real numbers. Starting from the top then, the highest-paying symbol is the wild, which has a return of 50x the current stake for five-of-a-kind, followed by Zeus himself – an older gentleman sporting a beard – who is worth 25x for all five of his symbols. A horse – Pegasus, perhaps? – is worth 15x for a full pay line, followed by Zeus’s axe at 10x, an Eagle at 7.5x, and finally a harp at 5x the current stake for a winning five-of-a-kind combination. The lightning bolt symbol, which triggers the bonus round, is worth 3x your bet for any number above five.

You can choose to bet from as little as €0.20 – a coin bet of €0.01 – up to €200.00 per spin, representing a coin bet of €10.00. That is about as extensive a range as anyone could ever hope for in a game like this, and there is even a huge range of permitted wagers between the two extremes to ensure that all players are catered for.

Base Game & Modifiers

Zeus Kingdom Of Riches Slot Base Game
Zeus Kingdom of Riches slot base game

There’s nothing out of the ordinary regarding the base game of Zeus – Kingdom of Riches. The game utilises the standard five reel, three row layout, although I guess you could argue that the 40 fixed paylines aren’t exactly average – the majority of games with a 5×3 playfield operate with far fewer pay lines. All winning combinations require at least three matching symbols on a pay line before a win is achieved.

Wild Symbols

The only special element we can discuss in respect of the base game would be the various wild symbols included on the reels. There are standard wilds as well as 2x, 3x, and 5x multiplier wilds, and several of these can form part of a single winning payline, resulting in the product of all multipliers being applied to the total win.

Zeus Kingdom Of Riches Slot Bonus Features

Zeus Kingdom Of Riches Slot Free Spins Feature
Zeus Kingdom of Riches slot free spins feature

The paytable of Zeus Kingdom of Riches does not specify exactly how many lightning bolt scatter symbols will award any possible combination of spins and vases in the free spins feature. You will need at least five scatters to trigger the three games, and the more scatters are part of the triggering combination, the more free spins and vase picks you will receive. Even if you opt to use the bonus buy facility, you still cannot control how many free spins you will receive, but you have at least a couple of options regarding the vase picks.

Free Spins

The free spin bonus round has no real advantage over the base game as standard, but the vase room you are presented with before every bonus round will hopefully award you more than just an extra free spin or two.

The vases can expand the size of the reel set up to 4×5 or 5×5, both of which add additional paylines as well as extra symbol positions. Other vases might enable a “win-both-ways” feature, add up to five sticky wilds to the reels, or convert one or more of the five royal symbols into wilds for the duration of the bonus round.

Bonus Buy

There are two options on the bonus buy menu of this game. The first option costs 70x the price of a regular spin and will award you a random number of both free spins and vase picks before the feature begins. I tried this option many times while testing the game and found that eight free spins with three vase picks seem to come up much more than any other combination. However, my sample size was not huge, so your results may vary.

If you are willing to pay 600x the regular spin price, then you can guarantee yourself eight vase picks, but the number of free spins you will receive is still decided randomly. The eight picks give you a great chance of enabling many of the possible features available in the bonus round, but if you are unlucky, you may add a bunch of extra free spins to your starting counter.

If the second option were priced a little more reasonably, I would probably recommend it, but at 600x the bet, I would probably give it a miss and take my chances with the randomness of the 70x option.

Zeus Kingdom Of Riches Slot Review Final Thoughts

I don’t remember enough about every previous Zeus game to say with certainty how this one ranks overall. Still, I will say that the original franchise by Williams (WMS) was almost certainly higher-paying games than this one. I did have fun testing Zeus – Kingdom of Riches but scoring yourself a high-paying bonus round seems extremely difficult without paying the 600x price of the top bonus buy option.
