Santa’s Stack Dream Drop Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
How many Christmas-themed slots are enough? I don’t know what the answer to that question should be, but slot developers obviously think we need more of them! Santa’s Stack Dream Drop is fairly early in the 2022 wave of new Christmas slots, although it isn’t the first game to be released. Previous years already saw lots of great Christmas-themed slots produced by almost every developer; Fat Santa, for example, was a massive hit, whilst games such as Santa Spins were lower-key but still great fun for a few spins around the festive season. I suspect that we could see more Christmas slots released this year than ever before, but I guess we’ll have to stay tuned for the time being – there are still more than two months left to go, after all!
The range of different wins on the paytable of Santa’s Stack Dream Drop is enormous, despite there only being seven unique symbols which can appear on the grid. Santa himself even makes an appearance, with the highest return of 10,000x your bet for an enormous cluster of 60 or more matching symbols. A more realistic goal might be 40 or more matching symbols for a payout of 400x your bet, although that still feels like a huge number to me despite the huge playfield in use here. The second-placed symbol is an older female character with a return of 4,000x your bet, 180x for smaller-but-still-huge clusters of 40+ symbols. The small green elf looking character symbol will pay you 300x for the maximum cluster or 170x for 49+ matching symbols, whilst the reindeer has payouts of 200x/160x for the same cluster sizes. The three lower paying symbols have maximum returns of 125x,100x, and 75x your bet for the biggest clusters.
The available betting range in Santa’s Stack begins at €0.20 per spin and maxes out at €50.00 for each round of play. With progressive jackpot games, your odds of winning a jackpot are almost always proportional to the size of your bet, so it may be worth playing a little bit higher than usual if you decide to try this game.
Base Game & Modifiers
Remember I said near the beginning that this game utilises one of the largest playfields I have ever seen in an online slot? Let’s talk some more about that now! The grid used in Santa’s Stack is enormous, eight symbols wide by eight symbols high. This gives a total of 64 possible positions – far more than a regular slot machine – but keep in mind that the largest wins require clusters of 60 or more matching symbols, which is very close to a full screen.
Wins are awarded for much smaller clusters, too, of course – the minimum cluster size is just five symbols, but the payouts for those wins are similarly unimpressive.
Secret Santa Respin
Any spin which results in a winning cluster that includes at least one wild symbol will automatically trigger this re-spin feature. Your winning cluster will convert into mystery symbols, and all those symbols will become locked.
If another win spins in adjacent to your previous cluster, the new symbols will also transform into mystery symbols, and a further re-spin will be awarded. The process will continue as long as there are new winning clusters on each re-spin that include at least one wild symbol.
At the end of the feature, all mystery symbols will transform into a random symbol chosen from the paytable, which could be more or less valuable than the one that sparked the initial re-spin.
Santa’s Stack Dream Drop Slot Bonus Features
A free spin bonus round is included in Santa’s Stack in addition to the headline Dream Drop jackpot feature. You’ll need to hit three or more bonus symbols anywhere on the reels to trigger the feature, but you can collect these during re-spins too, so there is a bonus symbol meter displayed at the top-right of the grid to make it easier to keep track of your progress towards a bonus round.
Free Spins
Hitting the minimum of three bonus symbols will award five free spins, with each additional bonus symbol on the triggering spin adding one additional spin to your initial counter. During the free spins feature, the Secret Santa Re-Spins feature is likely to trigger on most spins because the game will automatically add numerous wilds to the grid before each free spin.
If any additional bonus symbols happen to land whilst this feature is in play, they can add either an additional spin to your remaining total, boost your winnings with a multiplier, or both.
Dream Drop Feature
The progressive jackpot feature can trigger randomly before any paid spin in the base game. Five jackpots are available, and you are guaranteed to win one of them each time the Dream Drop feature appears on the screen.
The lowest jackpot prize, labelled “Rapid”, is currently only worth 10x the minimum bet, so it probably isn’t going to be very exciting for most. The Midi jackpot is a little better, currently showing at 33x the minimum bet, whilst the Maxi jackpot is where things start to get much more interesting (€242.42 at present).
The big prizes are the MAJOR and MEGA jackpots, the former of which is currently worth over €30,000, whilst the latter is at over six million Euros.
