Slurpy Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
When it comes to drink-themed video slots, these are mostly focused on beer, cocktails, and other alcoholic beverages. It’s rare to see a slot themed around what I’m assuming is a soft drink of some kind. I guess Fizzy Pennyslot from Big Time Gaming is another, but aside from that, I cannot think of many more. Where you could draw a few lines of similarities between Slurpy and other Elk Studio releases is the collection aspect of the game. Okay, so what about the wins on Slurpy? The most confusing aspect of the Slurpy slot, at least initially, is the mechanism it uses to determine wins. I will explain that in detail in the next part of the review, but essentially, payouts are determined by how many symbols of the same colour are sucked by the collectors. A combo containing 1-3 pays 0.05x your current stake, 4-6 is worth 0.10x, and 7-9 pays 0.50x. Land more, and the payouts increase further. For instance, 10-14 returns 2x, 15-19 is worth 5x, 20-29 pays 10x, and 30-39 rewards 100x. The biggest win is 200x the stake for a 40 symbol combination.
It’s time to wrap up this section by ending with the staking options. Clicking the Coins symbol at the bottom left of the screen on Slurpy allows you to set a bet between a minimum of €0.20 and a maximum of €100.00 per spin.
Slurpy Slot Base Game & Modifiers
There is a 5×5 gaming grid in play on the Slurpy slot, but the mechanic used to calculate payouts is unlike anything you would have seen before. There are no paylines, clusters, and Slurpy is not another scatter pays slot. Instead, there is a collection mechanic where Slurpy characters suck up symbols of their same colour.
There are six coloured Slurpy Collectors that can sit above the reels with straws. Any Slurpy currently active on a spin will collect the same coloured symbols and any others connected as long as there is a clear path to the top of the grid. Clearing the entire grid of symbols during a spin will increase the size of the gaming grid up to 6×6 and then to 7×7 if achieved again. If you clear the grid any time after this, a global win multiplier is increased by 5x.
At the start of a spin, just one of the Collectors is at the top of the reels. If the Collector sucks up a win, another Collector comes onto the screen from the right before the reels are refilled with symbols. If another win occurs, the leftmost Collector disappears off the screen to the left, and another comes in from the right. This process continues until no new wins are created on the spin.
Second Chance
If a spin comes down to just one type of coloured symbol remaining, and the collectors above are not the same colour, the Second Chance feature triggers. The Collector to the left is removed, and another comes in from the right.
Feature Symbols
In addition to regular paying symbols, feature symbols can also appear on the reels. These trigger/pay when there is a clear path to the top row of the reels.
- Coin Symbols: These pay cash prizes as a multiplier of the current stake.
- Multipliers: These increase the multiplier value of the current global win multiplier.
- Level Up: This symbol increases the size of the gaming grid up to its maximum 7×7 size.
- Extra Slurpie: This adds an extra Collector up to a maximum of three.
- Super Straw: Collects all the same coloured symbols of a Collector even if there isn’t a clear path to the top row.
- Long Straw: This allows the Collector to suck up a single cluster of the same coloured symbols even if there is no clear path to the top row.
- Wild Symbol: Substitutes for the regular-paying symbols when wins are possible.
- Double Symbol: Collects two different coloured symbols from the reels.
Slurpy Slot Bonus Features
The free spins bonus game on Elk Studios Slurpy slot will be triggered if a spin reveals three scatter symbols in any position on the gaming grid.
Free Spins Feature
If all three scatters were regular scatter symbols, you receive 5 free spins on the gaming grid as it was on the triggering spin. That means the global multiplier, the grid size, and the number of collectors carry over and remain in play throughout the bonus.

You have to hand it to Elk Studios for again coming up with a pay mechanic you’re unlikely to have seen before. Some of you may find it a bit too odd and out there, but this slot, for me, is another example of the innovation that is bursting out of this studio. Personally, I enjoyed it, although a 5,000x max win is quite a step back for Elk Studios.
