Tricks And Treats Demo Slot (Red Tiger Gaming) Slot Demo & Review

It seems that Red Tiger is getting ready for Halloween early this year, as the developer has been working on a new spooky-themed slot machine named “Tricks and Treats”. This is a 25-pay line game with a 95.73% RTP, while Red Tiger has calculated the maximum win as 1696.8x the stake following a one-billion round simulated run. That’s certainly not the biggest jackpot we have ever seen, suggesting that this may be a low to medium variance slot, but that doesn’t have to be an issue – not everybody likes every game to be an ultra-high volatility experience!

The reels of Tricks and Treats feature two special symbols – the Treat symbol acts as the game’s scatter, but it is used to award instant cash prizes than the more typical bonus rounds. The Trick symbol, on the other hand, will convert into wild symbols each time it lands, all with multipliers of up to 3x. There is a separate Halloween Spins scatter symbol, three of which will trigger a bonus round, and the TRICK symbols are accumulated whilst that feature is active, boosting the value of the feature significantly.

This game sure is a lot of fun, whether you prefer a trick or a treat – why not give our free demo slot of Tricks and Treats a blast below and see for yourself? We promise it isn’t too scary!

Tricks And Treats Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols

Paytable For Tricks And Treats Slot

Halloween is the perfect theme for all forms of modern culture and entertainment – endless movies have been created based on the supposedly frightening nature of All Hallows Eve, whilst video games and online slots have also seen plenty of spooky-themed titles as well. The Halloween Fortune games by Playtech always spring to mind when I think of this theme, but there are countless more out there, with more being released yearly. The big question would be, is Red Tiger’s take on this theme any better than the other games we have previously played based around Halloween? To find out, we’ll start by investigating the paytable!

Red Tiger has been typically lazy with its paytable implementation, meaning that the numbers shown are based on the minimum bet rather than the currently selected stake. This means you will need to work out the value of each winning combination for yourself, or you could refer to our breakdown here, of course; The black cat on a broomstick, cute as she is, tops off the paytable with a return of 25x your bet for each completed payline of five-of-a-kind. Next up, we have a ghostly character who may be a man under a white sheet – I guess I have no way to know for sure! – and he will pay you 12x for all five of his symbols. The spooky-looking cupcake is worth 7.5x, while the spookier-looking candle will pay you 5x your bet for a full line of five-of-a-kind. Four lower-paying royal symbols complete the paytable, with returns of between 3x and 1x for a full pay line.

The betting range starts at a low roller friendly, €0.10 per spin, and maxes out at a 1000x higher or €100.00 for each round. That’s a chunky amount of coin to be betting every couple of seconds, so I wouldn’t recommend it, even on a lower variance slot such as this. However, it’s nice for some players to have the option!

Base Game & Modifiers

Win Up To 1,696x Your Bet Across 25 Paylines On The Tricks And Treats Online Slot From Provider Red Tiger Gaming

The base game utilises a 5×4 playfield, which is a little bit large for a 25-payline game, so I would have expected the numbers on the paytable to be a little bit higher with this in mind. The three sets of bonus symbols make the base game a little more interesting than a typical slot, but you can also end up blocking regular winning pay lines if you end up with many mismatched scatters on a single spin.

Treat Symbol

The treat symbol is a scatter that will pay an instant cash prize whenever it lands on the reels. You don’t even need to hit multiple treat symbols together, although if you do, the values on each will be added to create your total instant cash prize.

Trick Symbol

The trick symbol will transform into a wild each time it appears on the reels and will occasionally also gain a multiplier of 2x or 3x to enhance the value of your wins. The multiplier applies to all winning combinations present on the current spin, not just the one it forms a part of. It is an unusual but welcome element that almost makes this symbol a kind of modifier.

The trick symbol will even multiply the value of any treat symbols visible on the reels, so if you can hit multiple trick and treat symbols on a single spin, then the winnings can be quite generous.

Tricks And Treats Slot Bonus Features

Three Or More Scatter Symbols Landing In View During The Base Game On Tricks And Tricks Video Slot Will Trigger The Free Spins Feature

The base game already offers enough special features to keep most players interested for a reasonable length session, but I’m still glad that Red Tiger decided to include a full bonus round as well. You’ll need three or more of the Halloween Spins symbols to trigger the feature, but there does not seem to be any benefit to hitting more than the required three, which seems a little disappointing.

The main feature of this part of the game is that the multipliers which appear on the trick symbols from the base game will be accumulated throughout the bonus round, and their value will be applied to all winning combinations in subsequent spins.

Given this feature, I would have expected a much higher win from Red Tiger’s billion round simulation than the quoted figure of around 1,700x – my own results seemed disappointing, too. However, that was mainly because of the lack of trick symbols which appeared in the bonus rounds while I was testing the game. This seems as if it should be a valuable feature, but a billion rounds are a decent enough sample size to say with confidence that this isn’t the case.

Tricks And Treats Slot Review Final Thoughts

So close, yet not quite good enough, is my opinion on Red Tiger’s Tricks and Treats online slot. If only the maximum win were a little higher, I’d have no trouble recommending this game – the features are great, the special symbols are great, and it’s a fun slot to play. Perhaps a “super” higher variance version for next year, Red Tiger?
